episode PS Plus Game Club - Episode 42: Skate Story cover

Description

Nick Hyett-Schnell and Brady (FatePrime) join Kevin to talk about Skate Story, a single developer game from Sam Eng that was released in December of last year. This episode is definitely not a spoilercast, but they do try to make sense of the story for a few minutes. They instead focus on the tone the game sets with its kaleidoscopic art style and laid back music by the band Blood Cultures. They cover their favorite songs, tricks, and decks to ride on. They also note how well the game mimics the feeling of owning a board and making it your own. Skate Story captured the essence of skate culture and this episode is all about how the game got it so right.

Mooglecast, Episode 24 | Abusing the Matrix | Speed Running in Video Games

Warmest of welcomes everybody! In this episode, Zac is holding down the fort as Max is on holiday so he has brought in two heavy-hitting guests in Kevin and Colin. They start the show with a look at the busy week that was, with a lot about the many announcements that happened. Platinum shoutouts highlight some of the fine work coming out of the discord. In Cactuar vs. Tonberry, new challenges are issued to our hosts, with Max finding a fun way of making an appearance. What we have been playing start with Kevin as he goes through an absolute plethora of games, including In Sound Mind and Subnautica Below Zero. He and Colin share their thoughts on the new Mixtape before Colin has some other heavy hitters to talk through. Zac takes the segment home with a surprising amount of work, including 3 platinums. The main topic consists of a deep dive into the world of speedrunning. They cover what speedrunning means to them, their history with it and the many shows that bring the hobby to the masses. What games handle speedrunning well? Is there a game that the guys think they could speedrun? And have they had any heartbreaking close calls? Listen it to find out. As they sign off the show, Zac reveals an exciting new addition to the Trophy Talk Network with Trophy Talk Triumphs, a leaderboard hub for Time Trials and Speedruns. Next month, Max and Zac will be reunited and surely will have a lot to talk about. Until then, be excellent to each other!

Trophy Talk Podcast - Episode 145: Reunited At Last

Hello one and all, and welcome back to another installment of Trophy Talk! In this June episode, Josh and Colin are reunited as cohosts and get to catch up on life, work, gaming, and of course trophy hunting. With life being busy recently, Josh hasn't had as much time to trophy hunt as he'd like but still finds time to earn some trophies in his favorite genre. Can you guess which genre it is? Simulator games of course! Colin on the other hand has sinned greatly this month, purchasing two new games and earning a Platinum for a title that may end up being in the game of the year discussion for 2026. Games covered include House Flipper 2, Powerwash 2, 007 First Light, Mixtape, and Helldivers 2. On top of all of that we of course cover our Patron write ins, Platinum shout outs, and other large topics of the month such as Sony's State of Play for June. Indeed we are eating good as gamers right now. So many games, so little time. It's a tale as old as time isn't it? Please enjoy this episode, and thank you for listening!
