About When life gets in the way. How can we find hope again?

My name is Catharina Karlsson. It started with a broken heart when my mother died and I was helped by grief recovery. I then decided that I wanted to give back and became a grief coach myself. I want to be a voice for the change of life that happens when life gets in the way for different reasons. I want to talk about how to find courage and tools to handle loss and refind hope in life. We are all individuals and there is no right or wrong and I want to approach grief from a humble perspective although based on my own perspectives and experiences.I am a teacher, special educator, mother and dogmom. I am also a certified grief coach. I have also done research about proactive health from a special educational perspective. I want this pod cast to be a safe place to talk about difficult things but where glimpses of light can shine in and give light and hope.Grief and loss is not only about death. We can get reactions of grief after for example a divioce, other major separations (human or pet), injury, disease or loss of a bodily function, assault, bullying, bankruptcy, conflicts at work or privately. For a variety of reasons we can lose our safety, security, self-esteem or dreams and trust in the future.Who was I and who did I become after my loss? With this podcast I want to spread knowledge about grief, loss and try to be a channel about ways to find some hope and light again. We are expected to move forward after our loss. How can we get there? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

episode Lift the lid- let out the words artwork

Lift the lid- let out the words

"WHEN LIFE GETS IN THE WAY, YOUR HEART RISKS CARRYING MORE THAN IT CAN BEAR, STEP BY STEP LONELINESS GROWS IN THE SHADOW OF SILENCE. IN LONELINESS, GRIEF GROWS. BUT WHEN WORDS COME TO LIFE, SLOWLY FROM SILENCE, GRIEF BECOMES LESS HEAVY. SHARED PAIN MAKES IT EASIER TO ENDURE AND CAN OPEN UP UNSEEN PATHS. THE DIFFICULT LIVES IN THE DARK, BUT SMALL GLIMPSES OF LIGHT CAN START SHINING IN VERY GENTLY, SLOWLY GROW ALONG WITH THE WORDS" (POEM BY LANLER 2026) When we share our grief something happens to us and it doesn´t become as heavy as when we carry alone. Conversations can give us perspective, make us feel seen and confirmed in serious life changes and difficult situations. This reminds us of the humanity in that life happens and that reactions to it are natural. Welcome to listen to my new episode about the importance of lifting the lid and dare opening up. Encapulated grief risks leading to anxiety, depression or other serious conditions. What was natural grief at the beginning has then developped into something more long-lasting and difficult to manage. Welcome to listen! ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. episode Grief Recovery; why? artwork

Grief Recovery; why?

Grief Recovery, why? Unprocessed grief is almost always due to something emotional that has not been communicated. Therefore, communication is also key. To heal grief after a painful loss, you therefore need to find out if and what is left unsaid in the relationship, what is it that still takes energy and makes it difficult to move on in life? There is otherwise a risk of getting caught up in rumination or in overanalyzing the relationship and what happened, and this might continue consciously or unconsciously until the communication is completed. Here, we need to review unspoken thoughts and feelings about the relationship but a common advice we get is just let go and move on but healing grief rarely works that way.  ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. Summer 5: Grief during the holiday season

GRIEF DURING THE SUMMER HOLIDAY SEASON. Summer series; episode 5 TODAY´S EPISODE IS ABOUT GRIEF DURING HOLIDAYS AND VACATION, BUT IT CAN ALSO BE REPRESENTATIVE FOR OTHER SPECIFIC TIMES OF YEAR WHEN YOU MIGHT FEEL EXTRA LONELY AND VULNERABLE FOR INDIVIDUAL REASONS.   THE SUMMER HOLIDAY PERIOD OR VACATION, CAN BE DIFFICULT SINCE LONELINESS MIGHT BE EXTRA HARD TO HANDLE. THE SUMMER SEASON AWAKENS FEELINGS, WHICH CAN BE NICE AND POSITIVE FILLED WITH HOPE, BUT IT CAN ALSO BE WINTER-HIDDEN FROZEN FEELINGS OF SADNESS THAT ARE NOW MELTING IN THE HEART, COMING TO THE SURFACE. THIS CAN MEAN A STRESSFUL EMOTIONAL TIME, LOADED WITH EXPECTATIONS THAT CAN BE DIFFICULT TO RELATE TO, TAKE PART OF AND LIVE UP TO. WELCOME TO LISTEN, CATHARINA ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy [https://acast.com/privacy] for more information.

Summer series 4: Myths about grief

This is a podcast about grief and loss and how we can find hope. How are we and how can we move forward?  Even if your life's greatest losses are not caused by death, this is still for you. Today I will talk about myths about grief. I think we can all recognize:  -Don't cry, can be perceived as; Don't show that you're sad through a reaction of crying, even though you're sad. This is easy to say meaning well, but the interpretation is that the actual expression of the emotion is wrong. From early age, we risk to earn that crying is weak in our society. We can hear someone who is crying being called names already in the playground. Crying is actually a great tool when it comes to reactions to grief and processing it. When you can let your emotions out, you shouldn't have to hear that it´s wrong, when you're in grief after a painful life change. In this episode I talk about other myths and examples of what we can say insted. Welcome to listenand follow. Thank You, Catharina ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast.
