In the last episode we talked about the Gift of Discernment and what true discernment is based on the Holy Word of God. Today, we will go through some foundational understanding of what it means to be saved by The Lord Jesus Christ, how the Lord saved me from the worldly deception of Self Help, and the urgency of the times that we are currently in. To not confuse or deceive, this podcast is to Glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in His kingdom. Because the nature of this episode will reveal my own testimony and use my own life as an example, I want to begin this episode with the point of the Scripture: The point is The Lord Jesus, who He is, and God's plan for His Kingdom.

Episode 1: Discernment & the Worm of Human Intellect

In this opening episode of Worms in the Word, we expose the worm of human intellect, the deception that discernment comes from experience, intuition, or emotional insight. But true discernment is not born of the flesh; it is a manifestation of the Holy Spirit, and it only operates through obedience to The Lord Jesus Christ and His unchanging Word. The Holy Spirit revealed that in this generation, many are confusing cleverness with spiritual clarity. But discernment is a gift that requires action—it is received through obedience, and it only functions when the Word of God is hidden in the heart. “Write them on the tablet of your heart.” – Proverbs 7:3 “Be diligent to present yourself approved… accurately handling the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15 Without the Word, there’s nothing for the Spirit to call to remembrance and no defense against deception.
