As we turn our attention to defeating the upcoming ballot measure known as the "New Amendment 3," one of the most important things we can do is make sure the public hears both sides of the issue through open debate. Wes Scroggins has begun another round of debate invitations to key supporters and advocates of the proposed measure. Public debates provide an opportunity for claims to be examined, challenged, and tested under cross-examination so voters can make informed decisions. We need your help. Please respectfully contact the individuals below and encourage them to participate in a public debate concerning the proposed amendment. Senator Adam Schnelting Adam.Schnelting@senate.mo.gov Sherry Kuttenkuler Sherry.Kuttenkuler@senate.mo.gov Tom Estes Tom.Estes@senate.mo.gov Susan Klein susan.k@missourilife.org A simple message asking them to publicly debate the issue can help increase accountability and transparency as Missouri voters consider this proposed constitutional amendment. Please be courteous, respectful, and persistent. The public deserves to hear these issues discussed openly.

AAMO 52 - Week 8 Legislative Update

Adam and Wes discuss the end of the first half of the legislative session as Missouri heads into spring break. Nothing has changed since last week, but this is a time to pray and prepare to push hard when the legislature returns. We will need renewed calls and support. We will also be taking a short break during the legislature’s spring recess and will return with another update the week the legislature is back in session. There is also an upcoming event to help prepare people for engaging these issues: A3 Forum  March 31, 6:30–8:00 PM  Missouri River Regional Library, Jefferson City Current Updates • Personhood now needs a “Do Pass” vote in the Senate Emerging Issues and Professional Registration Committee.  • Equal Protection in the Senate still needs a hearing date in the same committee.  • Both pieces of legislation still need to be assigned to committees in the House by the Speaker. Keep calling and reminding legislators: abortion must be abolished, and Personhood and Equal Protection are the righteous paths forward.
