Episode 6: PD-L1 Prevalence - Reconciling clinical data with real world data

In episode number 6 of Agilent’s “Dialogues in CDx” podcast, we explore how to bridge the gap between clinical data and the realities of daily laboratory practice. To unpack this topic, we are joined by two distinguished experts who bring complementary perspectives from pathology and oncology. Dr. Birgit Guldhammer Skov, consultant pathologist at the Department of Pathology, Sjaelland University Hospital in Denmark, works primarily with lung cancer. She has been involved in evaluating PD-L1 in lung cancer since the biomarker was introduced in 2016. Our second guest, Professor Inge Marie Svane, is a consultant oncologist at the Department of Oncology at Herlev Hospital in Denmark and Director of the national “Center for Cancer Immune Therapy” (CCIT). She currently leads oncology care for melanoma patients in eastern Denmark and has a special interest in real-world data and new treatment strategies for anti-PD1 refractory patients. Episode 5: Interpretation of CDx markers - How do we ensure proper training?

In the fifth episode of Agilent’s “Dialogues in CDx” podcast, we discuss how to ensure proper training for PD-L1 interpretation. Two leaders who are shaping this space discuss why training is important, the best practices, and how it impacts patient care.  The first guest in this episode is Dr. Bharat Jasani, Emeritus Professor in Cancer Pathology in the School of Medicine at Cardiff University. Dr. Jasani has been extensively involved in training of more than 1,000 pathologists worldwide in quality assurance and scoring, as well as interpretation of cancer biomarker expression, particularly PD-L1 and HER2.   Also joining the conversation is Karin Salomon who has worked for Agilent Technologies in R&D for more than 20 years as a principal microscopy expert. Karin is evaluating thousands of HER2 and PD-L1 stained slides every year and trains pathologists in scoring of various biomarkers through Agilent’s Biomarker Pathologist Training Program in Europe.  This podcast series is part of the educational resources supporting the PD-L1 IHC 22C3 pharmDx assay. Episode 4: Tissue issues - Overcoming sample limitations for PD-L1 testing

In the fourth episode of the “Dialogues in CDx” podcast series, we explore the issue of sample limitations and how pathologists can address them when performing PD-L1 testing. Two leaders in gastrointestinal pathology join the host Scott W. Boyer in an engaging discussion of the main challenges and solution strategies.  Dr. Mar Iglesias Coma is Head of the Pathology Department at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona and specializes in gastrointestinal pathology. Since 2008, Dr. Iglesias has served as an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Pathology, and is a contributor to multiple innovation projects, particularly within the fields of digital pathology, tools for multidisciplinary tumor committees, biomarkers, and laboratory applications.   Also joining the conversation is Professor Manuel Rodriguez-Justo, a consultant in gastrointestinal pathology and haematopathology at University College London Hospitals as well as a Professor of Onco-Pathology at UCL-Cancer Institute.  Professor Rodriguez-Justo has implemented molecular pathways and biomarker testing in gastrointestinal cancers and is involved in designing and developing multiple national and multicenter trials.   This podcast series is part of the educational resources supporting the PD-L1 IHC 22C3 pharmDx assay.
