God’s House Rules

Every healthy family has rules because every healthy family has relationships worth protecting. In 1 Timothy 5, Paul reminds Timothy that the church is more than an organization. It is the family of God. Because we have one heavenly Father, the way we speak to, care for, and treat one another matters. Healthy churches happen when God's people learn to live together as the family He intended them to be.

David: Prayer of Repentance

Psalm 51 is one of the clearest pictures of genuine repentance in all of Scripture. After David's sin with Bathsheba and his attempts to hide it, God confronted him through the prophet Nathan. Rather than making excuses or blaming others, David took ownership of his sin, saying, "my transgressions" and "my sin." A prayer of repentance begins with honest confession. Tonight, we will look at three steps to a prayer of repentance.

Training Through Trials

Training Through Trials explores how God uses difficulties, disappointments, and hardships to develop spiritual maturity in the lives of believers and those they mentor. Drawing from Job 23:10 and 1 Peter 4, this lesson teaches that trials are not obstacles to God's plan but essential tools for growth, strengthening faith, shaping Christlike character, and preparing us for greater usefulness. Participants will learn five biblical responses to suffering—expect trials, rejoice in them, exalt God through them, use them as opportunities to reach others, and remain faithful through them—discovering that God often does His greatest work in and through the fires of adversity.

Your Life is Louder Than Your Words

Everyone of us is influencing someone, whether we realize it or not. People are watching how we respond to difficulties, how we treat others, and how we live our faith day by day. The question is not whether we have influence, but what kind of influence we are having. That is the heart of Paul's instruction to Timothy. Before Timothy was a pastor, he was a Christian, and his greatest testimony would not be found in his words but in his life. The same is true for each of us. Tonight, as we study this passage, we will discover three simple principles that will help us live lives that point others to Jesus Christ.

How to Finish Well

Many believers begin the Christian life with excitement but eventually face discouragement, hardship, and opposition that tempt them to give up. The believers who first received Hebrews faced those same struggles. After pointing us to the examples of faith in Hebrews 11, the writer challenges us with an important question: not how we start the race, but how we finish it. Hebrews 12 reminds us that the Christian life requires endurance and teaches us how to finish well.
