Armor Up This Holiday Season by Praying the Whole Time with Prayer Warrior Darlene Vaningan

Hey friend, I am glad you are here. In this episode Ricki and Darlene share real, relatable stories about prayer, spiritual warfare, and learning to let the Holy Spirit guide your words, attitude, and responses. If the holidays or daily chaos have you wound up, this conversation is a warm reminder to stop, kneel, breathe, and trust that God is working all things together for good. We talk about Romans 8:28, which says, God works all things together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose. We also walk through the full armor of God from Ephesians 6:10 to 18, which says Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Stand firm then with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. We share stories about praying through chaos, answered prayers in unexpected places, staying calm when life gets messy, teaching children to pray early, and how the Holy Spirit gives peace and words when you feel unprepared. You will also hear personal moments about spiritual warfare, learning to be set apart, and trusting God step by step. Here is an awesome worship song called “Garments” by Brooke Ligertwood. It's a great praise song!! WOOHOOO JESUS!!! CRANK IT UP AT AROUND 3 MINS IN!! Praise the LORD! AND turn it up here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Yc6bEoETxU

Falling in Love with Reading the Bible Daily

Hey friends — it’s Ricki and Riley here to encourage you to grab your Bible and make it part of your daily rhythm. Start simple: read a Proverb a day or dive into John’s Gospel, pray before you begin, and jot down a note or prayer as you go. We both share what’s worked for us over the years. We begin this episode by reading Deuteronomy 17:19: “And it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, by keeping all the words of this law and these statutes, and doing them.” This was an instruction Moses gave to Israel’s future kings — but it applies to us today too! Read your Bible daily, keep God’s Word close, and live it out. How cool is that? We also look at Joshua 1:8, where God reminds us that walking in His Word brings success and blessing. God is so good to us! Make it real in your life — invite your kids to join in, journal in the margins, and don’t stress if you miss a day. God’s Word speaks into everything — wisdom, worry, joy — and He meets you in those small, daily moments. So pick up your Bible today, ask God to show you something new, and go out and broadcast His love — one page, one prayer at a time. Listen to more episodes at broadcasthislove.com.
