Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] Today, I sit down with Chris Milson for his second appearance on Couple O’ Nukes, almost exactly one year after our first conversation together. Mr. Milson returns for a raw and honest discussion about mental health, podcasting, grief, suicide prevention, family trauma, and the difficult reality of trying to help others while still carrying your own pain. As the host of Voice for the Voiceless and creator of The Mental Health Movement, he brings both lived experience and a deep desire to create space for people who feel unheard. In this episode, Mr. Milson opens up about an extremely heavy season of life that included losing a friend to suicide, losing his grandfather, and having to put down a neglected family dog. We talk about grief, therapy, birthdays, holidays, emotional triggers, and the way certain dates can carry memories that hit harder than expected. I also share my own reflections on being alone during my birthday in Japan, the mental health weight of rainy days and holidays, and why reaching out matters even when life feels overwhelming. Mr. Milson and I also discuss men’s mental health, the pain of growing up without healthy parental support, and how damaging family dynamics can shape a person’s self-worth for years. We talk openly about fathers, mothers, emotional neglect, weaponized vulnerability, suicide awareness, and the painful truth that even those of us working in prevention cannot save everyone. This conversation is not polished or performative—it is two men being honest about what it feels like to carry grief while still trying to help others survive theirs. We also get into the realities of podcasting as independent creators: burnout, no-shows, lack of guest support, social media algorithms, low engagement, and the frustration of creating meaningful mental health content that does not always get pushed out. At the same time, we celebrate the growth of Mr. Milson’s show, his expanding international reach, and the importance of long-term goals and consistency. https://www.youtube.com/@mentalhealthmovement-voice1382 https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1LSTFP4kC2/ Website: https://coupleonukes.com [https://coupleonukes.com/] Exodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/ [https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/] Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes? Buried Not Broken: Mia Godfrey’s Journey From Communist Romania To Healing

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] In this episode of Couple O’ Nukes, I sit down with Mia Godfrey for a powerful conversation about faith, trauma recovery, addiction, grief, and God’s ability to redeem even the most painful parts of our lives. Mia Godfrey shares her story of growing up as the youngest of ten children in communist Romania, where survival, hardship, poverty, and fear shaped much of her early life. Through her testimony, we discuss what it means to grow up with faith around you, but still have to personally encounter God through pain, healing, and surrender.  Ms. Godfrey opens up about childhood abuse, bullying, violence, and the early alcohol use that became a way to numb trauma before she even understood what addiction was. We talk about the difference between simply knowing Scripture and knowing God personally, as well as the shame, secrecy, and generational pain that often surround addiction and abuse. I also reflect on the phrase “hurt people hurt people,” while highlighting the deeper truth that healed people can help heal people.  We also discuss Ms. Godfrey’s journey to the United States, the loss of her first husband, the passing of her sister, and how those seasons led her toward writing her memoir, Buried Not Broken: A Memoir of Survival, Sisterhood, and Starting Over. Her story shows how writing, counseling, accountability, Christian community, and obedience to God can become part of a long-term healing process. Together, we explore how God can use the very things we once tried to hide as tools to reach people who are still hurting in silence.  Toward the end of the conversation, Ms. Godfrey shares Proverbs 3:5 and discusses her current work as a certified life coach, Bible counselor, EME practitioner, author, and retreat leader. We talk about women’s retreats, purpose, evangelism, and the power of one conversation to plant seeds that only God can grow. https://miagodfrey.com/ Website: https://coupleonukes.com [https://coupleonukes.com/] Exodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/ [https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/] Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes? Olivia Rodrigo's The Cure & Obsessed: Vital Biblical Truths About Self-Love & Relationships

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] In this solo Radiating Faith sermon, I use Olivia Rodrigo’s songs The Cure and Obsessed (along with reference to her album You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love) as a modern doorway into a deeper Biblical conversation about love, insecurity, sexual shame, mental health, and the search for healing. These songs capture something many people struggle with quietly: the desire for romance to fix what is broken inside us, and the painful obsession that can come from comparison, jealousy, and sexual history in relationships.  I talk honestly about my own experiences trying to “be the cure” in past relationships with women who struggled deeply with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and insecurity. Through those experiences, I learned that romantic love can comfort someone, but it cannot become The Cure or the antidote, nor the salvation and healing they need. A boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, or wife can bless your life, but they cannot replace Jesus Christ, the Word of God, or the deep healing that comes from knowing you are loved by your Creator.  This sermon also addresses Biblical dating, sexual purity, covenantal love, pornography, social media comparison, and the emotional wounds created when sex is treated casually instead of sacredly. I discuss how Scripture gives us a prevention guide for many of the mental and relational wounds people are carrying today, while also making it clear that this message is not about shame. It is about redemption, accountability, restoration, and becoming a new creation in Christ.  If you have struggled with romantic trauma, sexual regret, jealousy, insecurity, comparison wounds, or the belief that another person can finally make you whole, this episode is for you. Relationships are beautiful when they honor God, but they become dangerous when they become idols. The real cure is not being chosen by another person but rather, it's being rooted in Jesus Christ, renewed by Scripture, and learning to love yourself because God already does.  https://www.coupleonukes.com/books/ https://share.google/iEAaBW7F8Ubw8H9a2 Website: https://coupleonukes.com [https://coupleonukes.com/] Exodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/ [https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/] Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes? Relationship Vs. AI: Technology & Human Connection With Dr. Brian E. Arnold

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] Today, I sit down with Dr. Brian E. Arnold, also known as Dr. B, for a powerful conversation about artificial intelligence, human connection, faith, education, purpose, and the future of relationships. Dr. Arnold shares how growing up in an analog world, being placed in special education classes, and later using technology as an equalizer shaped his perspective on learning, achievement, and opportunity. His journey from struggling academically to earning multiple degrees, becoming an author, coach, entrepreneur, and educator shows how the right tools can help people overcome barriers without replacing the importance of human relationships. In this episode, Dr. Arnold and I discuss the rise of AI and whether people are talking about it in the right way. We explore how artificial intelligence can help with productivity, communication, writing, and accessibility, but only when it serves a deeper purpose. Dr. Arnold emphasizes that AI should help us create more time for family, faith, service, and meaningful relationships—not simply help us produce more noise, more content, and more distractions. We also talk about the danger of short-form content, social media addiction, comparison, celebrity idolization, and the decline of long-form conversation. Dr. B brings in the perspective of podcasting as one of the few places where people can still sit down for an uninterrupted conversation and build real human connection. Together, Dr. Arnold and I examine how phones, algorithms, and constant entertainment can pull people away from their families, their calling, and their relationship with God. Dr. Arnold also shares insight from his books, including There Is No Tiger, Be Do Have, The Decision Formula, and Relationship Versus AI. We discuss anxiety, overthinking, decision-making, coaching, business, faith, parenting, and why people need mentors, not just machines. brianearnold.com Website: https://coupleonukes.com [https://coupleonukes.com/] Exodus, Honor Your Heart, & Nulu Knives: https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/ [https://www.coupleonukes.com/affiliates/] Want to be a guest on Couple O' Nukes? Japan To Jamaica: Finding Culture, Connection, & Stillness In A World Moving Too Fast & Loud

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2093758/fan_mail/new] Today, I sit down with Steve Wright for a wide-ranging conversation that moves from Japan to Jamaica while exploring faith, culture, identity, comedy, travel, and what it means to slow down in a world addicted to noise. Coach Wright joins me virtually from Jamaica (with me in Japan) as we discuss cultural differences, the shared human desire for peace and family, and the way travel can reveal both what makes people unique and what connects us across the world. In this episode, Coach Wright and I discuss stillness, social media, screen addiction, and the constant information overload shaping modern life. We talk about how phones, algorithms, short-form content, and “brain rot” compete against reflection, discernment, prayer, and real human connection. I also bring in Biblical truth about being still, hearing God, and learning how to slow down long enough to understand ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. Coach Wright also shares insight from his move to Jamaica, his British-Jamaican background, and his reflections on cultural identity, belonging, and what it means to find home. Together, we discuss race, stereotypes, celebrity culture, comedy, cancel culture, character, and why people must be careful not to judge others by surface-level assumptions. From conversations about Japan, Jamaica, Black British identity, American culture, and the dangers of shallow labels, this episode highlights the importance of listening before speaking. We also talk about entrepreneurship, content creation, AI, quality versus speed, and the pressure creators face to constantly produce more. Coach Wright and I explore why meaningful work requires patience, nuance, mastery, and discernment instead of simply racing to publish, post, or perform. This episode is for listeners interested in Christian self-improvement, cultural identity, travel, podcasting, social media, Biblical wisdom, and learning how to live with more awareness in a distracted world.
