June 30 Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. - Revelation 3:19 My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives. - Hebrews 12:5-6 For the LORD reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights. - Proverbs 3:12 He wounds, but he binds up; he shatters, but his hands heal. - Job 5:18 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you. - 1 Peter 5:6 I have tried you in the furnace of affliction. - Isaiah 48:10 Though he cause grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love; for he does not afflict from his heart or grieve the children of men. - Lamentations 3:32-33 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. - Psalms 103:10-12 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him. For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. - Psalms 103:13-14 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875. This is a public episode. June 27 Who can stand? - Revelation 6:17 Who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap. - Malachi 3:2 I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands… - Revelation 7:9 These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. - Revelation 7:14 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. - Revelation 7:16-17 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. - Romans 8:1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. - Galatians 5:1 Adapted from “Daily Light”, published by Samuel Bagster in 1875.
