We start with the cake we sadly didn’t get a photograph of, the Mocha Cake, Simon is not a fan. Abby is in absolute heaven. We start our examination of the episode itself by questioning if Star’s Hollow is so close to another town it can be walked to. We talk about our actual wedding and discuss about why we didn’t have Jordan Almonds. We see that Lorelai is graduating from community college and Simon and Abby debate whether there is a discontinuity of whether Lorelai graduated from High school or got her GED. Abby spends minutes complaining about how Rory makes coffee. Simon doesn't understand Abby’s problem. We speculate on the bad relationship between Lorelai and Richard and Emily as for why he doesn’t want them at her graduation. We while explaining Christopher's gifts to Lorelai look at how one creates a pearl if it is not being taken from a clam.   We look at Rory coming to New York to see Jess, while also debating whether the proprietor of the record store they go to is meant to be on the spectrum . Then we move to Lorelai at the graduation and her issues with Emily bringing a camera guy. Simon explains why Shakey’s Pizza, a real restaurant that is now defunct was a bad pizza place. Simon then also goes into a extended explaination on the career of guest star Seth Macfarlane who plays the self important graduate Zach. We talk about issues of riding a bus. We end by looking at Rory’s apology to Loreal in missing the graduation.

E2. 22Bad Wedding Songs and Cupcakes

Our second season finale. We start after several false starts and talking about the Cupcakes that we really do both love, but Abby is disappointed at her decorating ability. (Photos on Instagram) But we begin our discussion of the episode by talking about Suki’s various choices for her wedding Music. The songs Sookie has decided are must be played at the wedding are “I can’t get Started”, “Hey Jude”, “Seasons in the Sun”,” Cats in the Cradle” and “Don’t Cry Out Loud”. We both agree that the song choices are rather inappropriate. We move toward the scene where seemingly Lorelai and Luke are shown to be unable to mend their relationship due to the fight two episodes ago. We throughout the episode bring up Paris running for class president and Simon’s theory about her despite her obvious liberal politics not being based on any democrat who ran for the presidency in the last century but a certain republican politician and later president… We speculate again on Hilton's actual class size. We talk about the deleted scene and Rory recovering from her injury as well as Lorelai and Chris seeming to mend their relationship but as Abby notes not for long. Explaining the party at Sookie's and Jackson’s house we talk about Brigadoon due to Jackson being expected to wear a kilt. We have a little segway where mention why we didn’t use Jordan Almonds but Chocolates at our wedding and muse about other events of our own recent wedding. Simon when speaking of Brigadoon cannot remember the name of actor Robert Goulet. We ask why Luke is not at the Suki/Jackson Wedding, and Luke’s reaction to the return of Jess. Abby is very indignant about the lack of pink at the wedding even though we were told its colors were pink. We look at how it looks like now that the show seems to be implying Lorelai and Chris are going to make it work and then Chris almost immediately finding out he got his ex Sherry pregnant and alongside we see Rory, despite Rory being with Dean kissing Jess and how these two scenes reverberate for the rest of the series.

220 Office Max and stale doughnuts

We start by talking about how often Luke closes the diner then move to talk about diner style restaurant as a whole and their relative decline in the United States. Abby then vigorously defends her caffeine addiction. We question why Michel would go to a diner every day.  We  consider whether Dean’s reaction to finding out about the accident with Rory’s Car was to much or actually was a tame reaction.  We talk about both the story of Nanook of the North, and The Wind Done Gone with Simon assuring that Gone with the Wind is historically inaccurate . Simon then reminisces about Office Max and how it has changed since 2002. We look at the continuing theme of Jess being blamed entirely for the car accident and everyone being patronizing to Rory. We discuss the decline of music stores, and question Carol King’s cultural background and her character Sophies own cultural background to explain her charity to Lane later. Both of us engage in fan canoning on whether Babette was a Hari Krishna. Simon and Abby discuss Richard’s reasons for wanting Lorelai to be his secretary, suggesting it is sentimental even if it is a bit ridiculous. Simon explains the plot of the movie The Jazz Singer. We end with a massive freakout by Abby about the Donuts Luke allowed Lorelai to eat at the end.
