Insulin also allows sugar to be used as fuel in the cell. Due to insulin resistance, many high blood sugar symptoms are related to low blood sugar and low sugar inside the cell. Here are 7 high blood sugar warning signs. 1. Excessive urination Waking up to urinate at night signifies a blood sugar problem and even a prediabetic situation. When you have too much sugar in the blood, it’s filtered by the kidneys and excreted in the urine. 2. Excessive thirst Excessive urination leads to water loss and excessive thirst. High blood sugar causes sodium retention, which your body tries to dilute. High blood glucose also contributes to potassium deficiency, which also increases thirst. 3. Skin changes Skin folds will often become darker due to excess glucose. 4. Brain fog and fatigue Many people have no idea this is a symptom of high blood sugar! High blood sugar starves the neurons. 5. Mood swings Irritability is often caused when your blood sugar that’s too high goes too low. A ketogenic diet can significantly improve mood issues. 6. Cravings Cravings will typically be for sugar and salty carbs. 7. Blurry eyes The lens of the eye becomes swollen, and the inside of the eye becomes reddened. Fixing the diet and lowering carbohydrates could help eliminate symptoms of high blood sugar within weeks. You’ll also want to increase glucagon to decrease insulin by consuming high-quality protein like red meat, fish, or eggs. An A1C test measures your blood sugar over 120 days. The higher the percentage of glycated hemoglobin you have, the more severe your diabetes is. If you’re on keto or the carnivore diet, you may notice that your A1C test is still high. You probably wouldn’t want to eat moldy bread, but moldy cheese will not negatively affect your health. The mold on cheese does not produce a harmful byproduct like some other molds. Avoid moldy foods such as peanuts, rice, grains, corn, dried fruit, and coffee. Eating mold on these foods can be harmful to your liver and can even cause cancer. If you have mold or fungus in or on your body, it’s probably not related to eating mold, but an issue with your microbiome. In a healthy microbiome, you have abundant good bacteria and are typically unaffected by fungus, mold, and yeast. When your gut bacteria are destroyed, fungus and mold can overgrow. Antibiotics, steroids, high levels of iron, and alcohol are detrimental to your gut microbes. Increased pH in the body can also contribute to the overgrowth of fungi and molds. Mold and fungus can downgrade your vitamin D receptors. Without sufficient vitamin D, your immune system can not function properly. Increase vitamin D to penetrate this resistance. To fix hyperpigmentation, focus on antioxidation from antioxidants. Adequate vitamin D will protect you against the overproduction of melanin, preventing dark spots from forming. If you’re avoiding the sun and using sunscreen, you will be low in vitamin D! Work on increasing vitamin D levels by consuming 10,000 to 20,000 IU of vitamin D3 daily. Build antioxidant networks in the body by consuming high-quality protein such as fish, meat, and eggs. Trace minerals, including zinc, copper, and iodine, are vital. B vitamins, vitamin C, and vitamin E are also essential. If you want a quick fix to remove uneven skin tone, use grass-fed organic plain unsweetened yogurt. Rub it into the skin and leave it on for 5 minutes before rinsing off. Add this step to your skincare routine once per week to help get rid of dark spots. Yogurt contains lactic acid at a gentle concentration that dissolves the bonds between dead skin cells that have darkened in pigment. It also provides probiotics to support the skin’s microbiome. If hyperpigmentation is severe, add a pinch of turmeric to the yogurt before applying it to your skin.
