Descripción

Perfectionism can look like ambition, but more often it feels like pressure. It pulls us out of the present moment, disconnects us from ourselves, and convinces us that who we are right now isn't quite enough. In this episode, I'm sharing my own journey with perfectionism as an actress, performer, and mother. We'll talk about how the pursuit of getting everything "right" can actually keep us from showing up authentically, whether that's in an audition, on stage, at a social event, in motherhood, or in our everyday lives. We'll also explore the connection between perfectionism, self-doubt, confidence, and the fear of being judged. I also share a recent moment when I almost skipped a Hollywood event because I didn't feel polished enough, and what shifted when I chose to lead with my values instead of my appearance. If you've ever felt like you need to be more prepared, more accomplished, more put together, or more perfect before you can fully show up, this conversation is for you. Together we'll explore practical mindset shifts to help you release the pressure of perfection, reconnect with your heart, build greater self-confidence, and remember that your presence will always be more powerful than perfection. From Professional Dancer to Children's Author: Trusting Life's Redirection - with Jenny Robinson Clark

A single moment can reroute a whole life if we’re willing to notice it. This week, I’m joined by Jenny Robinson Clark, a former professional dancer and actress turned children’s book author, to talk about what happens when the path you thought you’d live starts to change and how that shift can become the most meaningful work you’ve ever done. Jenny shares her journey from pursuing a career in entertainment in Los Angeles to choosing family when her mother faced a long battle with cancer. We talk about how that season transformed her understanding of ambition, success, self-worth, and what truly matters most. Together, we explore perfectionism, comparison, rejection, and the importance of staying grounded in confidence, authenticity, and a deeper sense of purpose. We also dive into spirituality, mindfulness, and the power of presence. Jenny shares the signs and synchronicities that followed a transformative Dr. Joe Dispenza retreat, including the message that ultimately inspired her children's book, Are You Here—a beautiful story that helps families navigate love, loss, grief, and connection beyond the physical world. Along the way, we discuss meditation, anxiety, parenting, homeschooling, and the reality that grief and joy can coexist in the same season. If you're navigating change, searching for creative clarity, healing from loss, or learning to trust life's unexpected redirections, this conversation is a reminder that sometimes the path unfolding before you is even more meaningful than the one you originally planned. From Reaction to Awareness: How Meditation Changed My Life

Meditation has been one of the most powerful tools in my life. It's helped me navigate stress, pressure, motherhood, and uncertainty, and it's something I often wish I had discovered a decade earlier during my performance career. In this episode, I share how meditation transformed my relationship with stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. I used to think meditation was about clearing my mind. What I've learned is that it's really about creating awareness—and in that awareness, we have the power to make a choice. That shift from reaction to awareness has supported me through high-pressure performance jobs, postpartum seasons, and the beautiful chaos of raising three children. I also share how this practice has changed my parenting, allowing me to stay more calm, present, and grounded when emotions run high. If you've ever struggled with anxiety, stress, overstimulation, or racing thoughts, this episode offers practical tools you can begin using today. I guide you through a simple meditation designed to help regulate your nervous system, cultivate gratitude, set an intention for your day, and create space for more peace, presence, and possibility. I'm also so excited to open enrollment for upcoming online meditation and movement classes! I'd love to have you join us live or catch the replay! Fitness, Faith, Grief, and Finding Joy- With Nicole Sciacca

In this episode of Essence Embodied, I’m joined by movement coach Nicole Sciacca for a conversation on embodiment, self-trust, healing, and finding joy through life’s hardest seasons. With over 25 years of experience in dance, yoga, mobility, and strength training, Nicole shares how a severe spine injury forced her to rebuild not only her body, but her identity. We talk about nervous system regulation, functional movement, discipline, people pleasing, perfectionism, and learning to trust yourself instead of constantly seeking external permission. Nicole also shares more about her online platform, Sweat and Stillness [https://www.sweatandstillness.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com], designed to make movement and wellness feel more attainable and sustainable in everyday life. She tells us about her upcoming June Fit 2026 program beginning June 4th, and generously offers listeners 10% off. We also speak honestly about grief, God, spirituality, and resilience as Nicole opens up about losing her partner suddenly and the perspective shifts that followed. This episode is a reminder that healing isn’t about becoming someone new, it’s about returning to yourself with more presence, compassion, and truth. If you’re navigating burnout, grief, self-doubt, or simply wanting to feel more grounded in your body and life, this conversation is for you. Healing Through Dance After Injury And Loss- With Jaimie Goodwin

In this episode, I’m joined by Jaimie Goodwin — professional dancer, mentor, movement coach, and So You Think You Can Dance alum — for a conversation about dance, mindset, injury recovery, authenticity, teaching and navigating the realities of a creative life. Jaimie shares her journey from competitive dance to major opportunities in the entertainment industry, including the audition story that changed everything simply because she chose to show up. We talk about perfectionism, comparison, flow state, performance anxiety, and the inner dialogue that can either support dancers or hold them back. She also opens up about multiple ACL tears, grief, recovery, and the mindset shifts that helped her reconnect to her body, purpose, and presence. We discuss working with dancers, injury prevention, cross-training, and why doing the “opposite” of what dance demands can help restore balance and longevity. We also dive into motherhood, mentorship, rebuilding during transitional seasons of life, and the reminder that the present moment is shaping the future we’re creating. If you’re a dance teacher, dancer, performer, creative, or anyone learning to trust themselves more deeply, this episode will leave you feeling grounded, encouraged, and inspired to keep showing up.
