Cape and Jackson Track Have Big Days at State + Notre Dame Makes a State Run in Baseball and Soccer

Caleb recaps a big weekend of postseason action in baseball as well as the track and field state championships. Notre Dame baseball battled to a one-run loss in the state quarterfinals after an emotional roller coaster of a week. In Jeff City, our local runners, throwers, and jumpers had to deal with extreme weather and schedule changes at the state championships. However, in the end, Cape and Jackson collected numerous hardware awards, including 4 gold medals, and 2 teams finished in the top 4 in the state. Notre Dame Dominates Districts in Baseball and Soccer, Track and Field State Finals Recap/Preview

Caleb recaps the District Tournament slate in baseball and soccer. Notre Dame was our lone representative to punch their ticket to the state tournament in each sport with dominating performances in each sport. Elsewhere, Saxony and Notre Dame track and field athletes competed in the state meet and put up impressive performances. The Lady Bulldogs finished 2nd as a team in state and were led by Freshman State Champion Jojo Iwuchukwu, who took 1st in the triple jump. The slate is limited this week with Notre Dame taking on North County in Sectionals with an opportunity to host a State Quarterfinal.
