Descripción

Welcome to episode two of Ghost in the Stacks. The podcast where I review and recommend horror and horror adjacent books. If you’re looking for your next spooky story then you’ve come to the right place. Today I’ll be talking about a book that takes us to a world in which cannibalism has been legalized and examines how it would operate under capitalism. And the other book tackles addiction and white guilt using ghosts and the haunted past of Richmond, VA - a city whose history is steeped in racism, slavery, and inequality.

Episode 3: The Reddening Arsenic and Adobo

Hello and welcome to episode three of the Ghost in the Stacks podcast. The show where I review and recommend horror books and spooky stories. If you’re looking for some new creepy books to add to your reading list then you’ve come to the right place. Today I’ll be talking about the second Adam Nevil book I’ve read, a book called “The Reddening” which features some folk horror with a touch of cosmic horror wrapped up in a good old fashioned cult story. The second book I’ll be talking about has a much lighter story in regards to its tone, its titled “Arsenic and Adobo" by Mia P. Manansala. It’s a cute murder mystery story centered around a Filipino family and their struggling restaurant. The book is fun and light but still has a strong sense of tension and danger. So without any further delay here’s my review of “The Reddening” by Adam Nevill.
