Descripción

Are you truly comfortable with who you are? Do you show the world the real you? Or do you hide behind a mask that you think you are supposed to wear? In this episode we (the guest speaker being me) discuss true authenticity. The benefits and challenges of truly being comfortable to be who you truly are and to show the real you to the outside world. I touch on the topic of the "fake it till you make it" industry that we are often sold via social media, books and self help courses and the masks and fake personas we take on in an effort to compete with the outside world. I talk a little about my journey to authenticity and the challenges I faced and the lessons I learnt. The most important one being that "there is no competition, there is only one you".

One Mans Journey with Mental Health - with Martin Ball

"Society is changing, but the suicide rates among masculines are double that of the national road toll" In this episode we talk to Martin, an amazing man who went from having what some would call "everything", to his journey with depression, suicide attempts, being institutionalised, recovery and now living an amazing life with several successful businesses. Martin takes us on a candid, vulnerable and honest look at what his life was like and what he went through and how everything changed in the blink of an eye. We discuss what it is like for masculines suffering in silence, due to the conditioning of society and what we should and should not do to help if we know someone in this situation. And we talk about how much your environment and the people you are surrounded with contribute to your overall mental health.
