On Sunday, June 21, Rev. Mark Burnham continued his new summer series entitled, "A Curriculum of Love:  Deepening Our Love for God, Our Neighbor, and Ourselves".  Today's sermon is entitled, "The Gentle Whisper". This summer’s sermon series “A Curriculum of Love” was created by the Rev. Siri Strommen, a Lutheran pastor in Minnesota. In all three Synoptic Gospels, Jesus says:      “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul and your neighbor as yourself.” While the command is simple, it is not easy. This series invites us to journey deeper into the heart of God and the reality of God’s love in our lives.      The Sundays in June cover the first theme of the series—Loving God: Evaluating our idea of God, building trust, and connecting with God. • June 21: Connecting with God • June 28: Surrender and Trust Scriptures            * First Reading - Mark 6:30-34 * Second Reading - 1 Kings 19:4-13 Thank you for listening to this sermon. We pray that you are encouraged and blessed by this message. Join us again next week for the next sermon in our summer series. Please like and subscribe wherever you listen to this podcast. "Facing the Shadows Within"

On Sunday, July 5, the 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time, the Rev. Mark Burnham continued the summer series entitled, "A Curriculum of Love:  Deepening Our Love for God, Our Neighbor, and Ourselves".  Today's sermon is entitled, "Facing the Shadows Within". In the month of July, we will focus on Jesus' call to love ourselves, an idea that makes some people uncomfortable. We assume that loving yourself too much makes you self-centered and narcissistic. But to be the beloved of God is at the heart of the good news! We will explore how self-love is modeled by Jesus and an essential part of living out the great commandment. Scriptures            * First Reading - Psalm 46:1-7 * Second Reading - Luke 4:1-13 Thank you for listening to this sermon. We pray that you are encouraged and blessed by this message.
