Descripción

Two Years of Hot Diabetic Club: The Origin Story, the Retreats, and What's Coming Next Six years ago, Tini posted about her diabetes online and didn't expect much. What followed was a Facebook group, a movement, and eventually 1,200+ members who found each other through the thing they were told to hide. In this episode, Carson interviews Tini to take you through the full HDC origin story — from the "Rage Bolus Babe" era and early virtual hangouts, to the terrifying financial bet on a Sedona retreat that changed everything, to the identity-first Mexico retreat that proved diabetic community is about who you are, not just what your A1C is. She also gets real about the messy parts: the growing pains, the hate, the money fears, and why she keeps going anyway. Plus: a first look at the future of Hot Diabetic Club. A new model with a free community layer, paid membership, and a marketplace on the horizon. Can Diabetics Do It All?

Can diabetics do it all? Spoiler: maybe, but not all at once. Carson and Tini are back for Season 2 and getting real about burnout, priorities, and what it actually looks like to manage your health while building a life. They use the five pillars framework — health, career, relationships, self-care, and play — to audit the last three months and give themselves permission to be in a different season. Also: CGM switches, endo wins, and low snack rankings. 0:00 Singing Dreams 02:57 Blood Sugar Roll Call 03:45 Libre Switch Story 08:46 New Endo Win 21:53 Three Month Highlights 25:57 Retreat in Punta Cana 33:30 Five Life Pillars 40:04 Next Three Months Reset 47:14 Low Snack Favorites Give us a Call: +1 (704)412-9855 Off The Hook Anonymous Write-In Form: https://forms.gle/uHSQ5XbyjCUM76XLA Meet your Diabestie: Explore a Hot Diabetic Retreat: Resources: https://linktr.ee/hotlinetoher Instagram: @hotlinetoher TikTok: @hotlinetoherpod This episode of Hotline to Her reflects personal experiences and perspectives and is for educational and entertainment purposes only. Give Yourself a Break (we did lol)

We ghosted you (sorry diabestie!) but we are rested and honestly? We needed it. Carson and Tini are back with a mini episode that's part explanation, part love letter to season one, and part hype reel for what's coming June 1. Turns out running a podcast, a few businesses, diabetes, and your whole life at full speed has consequences (who knew 👀). They're spilling on their favorite moments from season one, the community connections that made it all feel worth it, and why taking a real break was honestly the most on-brand thing they could've done for a show about living well with diabetes. Season 2 of Hotline to Her drops June 1. This one's short, sweet and giggly. 📞 Got a story? Keep calling and writing in — the hotline is always open. Party Girl with Diabetes

Partying With Type 1 Diabetes: Drinking, Dancing, and Staying Safe Carson and Tini discuss strategies for nights out: packing low snacks and protein (Glow gummies, GoMacro bars, meat sticks, juice), eating and hydrating before leaving, aiming for slightly higher starting blood sugars, using pump activity mode to raise targets and reduce basal when dancing, and bolusing less for sugary cocktails while often not bolusing for hard seltzers. They describe how alcohol and dancing can cause lows, how low symptoms can mimic being drunk, and the need to eat after the bar and plan for late-night or next-day insulin sensitivity. Tini shares becoming sober after appendicitis and health anxiety, still going out with soda water or gardening drinks, and they emphasize safe experimentation and self-compassion. No Perfect Blood Sugars!

Our Diabetes Management Styles: Grace, Tech, and Hot Takes Tini and Carson discuss diabetes management styles while sharing frustrations about high costs and pharmacy access, they compare how Tini, diagnosed as a teen nearly 15 years ago, learned through lived experience while Carson, diagnosed as an adult about three years ago, sought structured guidance, emphasizing there’s no single “right” way to manage. They talk about sustainable effort levels (typically 70–80%), not tying self-worth to CGM/pump data, and the mindset shift from “control” to “manage.” Reminding us that you can set a “bare minimum” care thresholds to stay safe and give yourself grace.
