🎙 Jay & Laney J LIVE – Episode 89 Podcast Show Notes – Friday, June 5, 2026 Jay and Laney J kicked off Friday morning with a special in-studio visit from Dr. Lofton, who joined the show to talk with listeners and help start the morning with a great local conversation before the weekend. The interview led into plenty of community discussion and set the tone for another fun and fast-moving edition of Jay & Laney J LIVE on Best Country 106. One of the biggest conversations of the morning centered around Uber’s newly released list of bizarre lost items left behind in rideshares. Dentures, live butterflies, and even a dishwasher somehow made the list, leading listeners to call and text in with stories about the strangest things they’ve ever forgotten in public places. The duo also tackled the trending Gen Z dating term “Wildflowering,” where people reject traditional relationship labels and timelines in favor of simply letting relationships grow naturally. That sparked a lively discussion about modern dating culture, commitment, and whether defining relationships is becoming a thing of the past. Another fun topic came from a new study explaining why alcohol tends to make people crave salty foods instead of sweets. Listeners shared their favorite late-night snacks, gas station food combinations, and the ultimate comfort foods after a night out, turning the conversation into one of the funniest parts of the morning. Jay and Laney J also discussed the viral story about a Chicago graduate reportedly being denied a diploma after doing a split on stage during graduation. That opened the door for listeners to share memorable graduation moments and debate whether schools take celebrations too seriously. The show also featured a hilarious conversation about how people secretly judge other shoppers based on what’s inside their grocery carts. Frozen dinners, energy drinks, snack foods, and random grocery combinations all became part of the discussion as listeners described what certain grocery items “say” about people. As always, the morning included plenty of music, listener calls and texts, Facebook interaction, and fun Friday energy leading Southeast Oklahoma into the weekend. Catch Jay & Laney J LIVE weekday mornings 7–9 AM. 📻🎙

"Porch Swings & UNO Wars"

🎙 Jay & Laney J LIVE – Episode 88Podcast Show Notes – Thursday, June 4, 2026 Jay and Laney J kicked off Thursday morning talking about the growing trend of people bringing back old-school board games and card nights instead of sitting around scrolling on their phones. That quickly turned into hilarious listener stories about family Monopoly meltdowns, ultra-competitive UNO games, domino tournaments, and the one person everybody refuses to play cards with anymore. Listeners also chimed in with their ultimate game-night snacks and favorite childhood games. The show kept the nostalgic summer vibe rolling with conversation about smells that instantly trigger childhood memories. Fresh-cut grass, sunscreen, pool chlorine, gasoline from lawn mowers, and even crayons all made the list as listeners shared the scents that take them straight back to summer break as kids. Jay and Laney J also debated whether sleeping with a fan on is absolutely necessary or completely overrated, and listeners had strong opinions on both sides. Later in the morning, the “This or That” segment featured Front Porch vs. Back Porch, leading to discussion about porch swings, sweet tea, evening sunsets, and classic small-town summer evenings in Southeast Oklahoma. For the Thursday Kids IQ Question, listeners tried to guess how many times the average kid laughs each day, sparking funny parenting stories and reactions from callers and Facebook comments. The duo also talked about the sounds that define summer — cicadas, fireworks, lawn mowers, baseball games, and thunder rolling through the area — while listeners shared stories about growing up in small towns where everybody knows your truck before they know your name. The show stayed interactive all morning with calls, texts, Facebook Live comments, TikTok interaction, and plenty of small-town humor mixed throughout the broadcast. “Brick & Bread Breaks The Internet In Broken Bow”

🎙 Jay & Laney J LIVE – Wednesday, June 3, 2026 Jay & Laney J LIVE rolled through another fun Wednesday morning packed with laughs, listener interaction, and some truly bizarre trending stories. One of the biggest local conversations of the day centered around the new Facebook campaign from Brick & Bread in downtown Broken Bow, where the business is giving away cash to locals who post about B&B on social media. That sparked a big discussion about creative local marketing ideas, supporting hometown businesses, and just how powerful word-of-mouth advertising can be in a small town community. Listeners had plenty of opinions and stories about local businesses doing unique promotions over the years. The show also kicked off with summer officially arriving in Southeast Oklahoma, complete with heat, humidity, and mosquitoes already making their presence known. That led perfectly into one of the morning’s wildest stories — Google [https://www.google.com?utm_source=chatgpt.com] wanting approval to release millions of sterile mosquitoes in parts of the United States. Listeners had a LOT to say about that one, with reactions ranging from “great idea” to “absolutely not.” Jay and Laney J also talked about a new study showing fast-tempo music can help people work out longer, which opened the floodgates for listener suggestions on the best workout songs of all time. Another hot topic involved Americans being nervous about AI impacting jobs and the economy while still believing their own careers are safe, leading to some hilarious discussion about whether AI could ever replace radio personalities. The crew also covered the story about a woman who had banned herself from a casino but still hit a jackpot before getting escorted out by security, creating one of the funniest debates of the morning. The show featured This or That summer edition questions, the Impossible Question of the Day, and tons of interaction from listeners watching and commenting on Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. As always, listeners were reminded they can stream the station anytime on the Southeast Oklahoma Radio app or online at seokradio.com. Catch Jay & Laney J LIVE weekday mornings 7–9 AM. 📻🎙

"The Show Must Stream On"

🎙 Jay & Laney J LIVE – Episode 86 Podcast Show Notes – Tuesday, June 2, 2026 Tuesday’s episode of Jay & Laney J LIVE started a little differently than usual after the crew experienced an off-air issue at the beginning of the morning. Jay and Laney J quickly shifted gears and kept the show rolling online, encouraging listeners to tune in through the station’s TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube live streams while also directing everyone to the station website, SEOKRadio.com, to stay connected during the outage. The unexpected start created some fun behind-the-scenes moments and gave listeners a chance to interact with the show in a different way. Once things settled in, the conversation turned toward Oklahoma’s early summer heat and the return of the “Old School Summer Challenge,” where listeners shared memories of growing up before smartphones and constant notifications. Topics like drinking from the water hose, staying outside until dark, and summer boredom turning into adventure sparked plenty of calls and comments from listeners across Southeast Oklahoma. One of the biggest discussions of the morning focused on a growing number of Americans reportedly turning down promotions because of burnout. Jay and Laney J talked about the balance between making more money and protecting your mental health, while listeners shared stories about stressful jobs, overworking, and whether chasing a promotion is still worth it. The duo also explored a new study claiming most people underestimate how cynical their friends actually are. That led to some hilarious listener interaction as people admitted whether they’re the optimistic friend in the group or the one always expecting the worst. Jay and Laney J kept the conversation moving with relatable real-life examples and plenty of laughs. Another major topic centered around the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the surprising number of Americans who say they still have little interest in soccer despite the tournament being hosted in North America. Jay and Laney J debated whether soccer can ever truly compete with football in Oklahoma and asked listeners what sport they just “don’t get.” Episode 86 delivered another memorable show. "Caves, Aliens & White Sands: A New Mexico Road Trip"

🎙 Jay & Laney J LIVE – Episode 85 Podcast Show Notes – June 1, 2026 This morning on Jay & Laney J LIVE, the show opened with our monthly first-Monday check-in with local law enforcement, talking with Chief Morrison of the Broken Bow Police Department. The conversation covered updates from around the community, local safety topics, and a look at what’s been happening heading into the month. From there, Jay shifted into a full recap of a recent New Mexico road trip that took him across deserts, mountains, caves, and some of the most recognizable landmarks in the Southwest. The trip began in Carlsbad, New Mexico, with a visit to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. One of the biggest highlights was watching thousands of bats emerge from the cave at sunset — one of the most famous natural events in the region. The following day included exploring deep inside the caverns before heading east toward one of the most well-known small towns in America. From there, the trip continued to Roswell, where Jay explored the town’s UFO history and alien-themed attractions tied to the famous 1947 incident that made the area internationally known. The route then moved into the mountains around Ruidoso, including time near Sierra Blanca. Jay rode an OHV up to Monjeau Lookout in the Sierra Blanca Wilderness area, taking in sweeping mountain views and spotting wild horses along the way. Later in the trip, Jay stayed in Cloudcroft, in a safari-style tent overlooking the Lincoln National Forest with views stretching toward Alamogordo. The stop also included a memorable meal at a local restaurant where the walls are covered in signed dollar bills. Saturday’s adventure featured a hike along the Old Cloudcroft Highway Trail, which still includes remnants of the historic railroad that once connected Cloudcroft and Alamogordo. The trip then wrapped up at White Sands National Park, where miles of bright white gypsum dunes created a surreal, snow-like desert landscape. The show closed with listener reactions, travel stories, and reflections on the mix of caves, aliens, mountains, and desert scenery — ending with a light moment about waking up to a turkey outside the tent before heading home.
