Casto reflects on his coaching philosophy of quiet authority and selfless team-building, drawing on stories from South Charleston's 1994 Class AAA football state championship, including linebacker Damon Booker's position switch to free safety that proved decisive. The conversation covers Casto's subsequent rebuild tenure at Nitro, the rising academic eligibility standards for collegiate athletes under the NCAA clearinghouse, the erosion of loyalty through the transfer portal at both the high school and college levels, and West Virginia's incoming SSAC transfer rule that limits movement to the freshman and sophomore years.
