i started this story and did not complete the thought: when my grandfather was buried a man knelt before me (a fire man! of all things) and said, "Your grandfather wanted YOU to have this." He didn't give it to his son, or his (only) grandson, he gave it to me. and the man's facial expression (essentially, to me) said "do you guys even realize the man we just lost, do you guys appreciate him? i think i loved this man more than any of yall might, and he was just my boss, my coworker..." anyway it was a national medal of honor. imagine earning a NATIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR, and not talking about it. i dont think any of us even knew, until it was in my hand. my dad even asked me for it, i said, "were you listening? that man said he wanted ME to have it, its not yours." anyway: the fight is real, THE LOVE is real. love, WINSLOW

spring cleaning, anyone?? while i recognize that in the SOUTH, seasons may not mean as much... one thing i really enjoyed about living in Maine was the very clear and real shift, as a season turns. its technically spring until June 22, so we're in PERMISSION TO BLOOM season (8th year running? on that concept, alone?? meaning: every Spring, for atleast 8 years, i oscillate with, promote, and reflect upon this notion) AND its objectively (widely recognized as) time to clean. we organize, sift, sort. we're thankful its warm enough to OPEN A DOOR (dafuq? in Florida its too hot to open a door sometimes, in Maine its way too cold all the HEAT will escape). Flowers do not wait for permission to bloom, and yet we all know it can often be a deficit to be considerate. we know that people who lack intelligence, respect, etc. dont often doubt themselves. in fact: being self conscious is in part a reflection of not only a considerate spirit, but an educated one. there's many ways we say this, I'm sure yall have heard this before: "The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence." – Charles Bukowski anyway: perspective jahbless. love, WINSLOW
