Descripción

As Christians we are all familiar with the words Salvation and Saved. What does it mean to truly be saved? The Greek word for Saved is Sozo. It carries the same idea as the Hebrew word for Peace or Shalom. Saved means to deliver and to rescue but it also carries the idea of being healed and made whole and complete. God forgives sin but He also heals our brokenness and restores what has been shattered. To be saved is an absolutely beautiful thing.

Episode 82 Life is Unfair

One of life's hardest lessons to learn and accept is that life is unfair. We have all seen things happen to people who certainly didn't deserve what went on in their lives. I am sure that many of us have had things go on that were not fair in the least. Things people did or said, the way some things sorted themselves out can seem like the cards are not in our favor. I came across a quote that said - "God is Good, life is unfair. Don't confuse those two truths". That is one of the most powerful pieces of advice that I have ever heard. If we are honest, it is easy to get turned upside down. In the confusion of unfairness, we tend to lose sight of the overwhelming fact that God is good. I think our discussion time this week will be valuable. Thank you for being a part of the podcast.

Episode 80 The Peril Principle

Serving God is an honorable and exciting life. Let's set the record straight, it is not an easy life. If you don't believe me just look at the life of Paul, Moses or for that matter, Jesus. There is a saying - "Give God your YES". Of course, obedience to God is at the heart of all that we believe. Many say yes to God with little understanding of the cost. Many approach their "yes", with an idealism rooted in ignorance instead of an understanding of sacrifice, faithfulness and the keeping power of God. There is nothing like serving God! There is nothing like walking in obedience to the call that God has placed on our life. It is powerful. It is an adventure. It is full of God's blessing and grace. It is not without its challenges, pain and frustration. Today we are going to look at the Peril Principle. Not to scare anyone but to take a realistic look at what it truly means to serve God and to live our lives as a living sacrifice.
