Welcome to Movie Mandates, a review show in which sibling cinephiles Andrew and Keleigh force each other to watch movies according to a monthly theme!  We're closing out The Streisand Effect with a movie that did not want people paying attention to it for the reason people were paying attention to it.  Due to workplace safety issues, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed with a prop gun wielded by actor Alec Baldwin during the production.  Understandably, that tragedy is the only thing many people know about the film and the only thing that many people talk about regarding the film. And that includes us.  But other than that, Mr. Lincoln, how was the play? 0:00 - Trivial Trivia 9:58 - Rust review 59:14 - Next episode's mandated movie We'll be back in two weeks with another mandated movie.  If you'd like to watch it, click here to find where it's streaming or available to rent. If you'd like to watch the video version of Movie Mandates, you can do so on YouTube.  Alternatively, you can listen to and audio-only version on iTunes.  New episodes of Movie Mandates drop on the first and third Wednesday of every month! Credits: Molehill Mountain is hosted by Andrew Eisen and Keleigh Eisen.  Music in the show includes "To the Top" by Silent Partner and is used with permission.  Movie Mandates logo and art by Lynndy Lee.

Movie Mandates: WHAT’S UP, DOC? (The Streisand Effect)

Welcome to Movie Mandates, a review show in which sibling cinephiles Andrew and Keleigh force each other to watch movies according to a monthly theme!  This month we're celebrating The Streisand Effect and we're kicking off the festivities with my mandated movie: Barbara Streisand's lauded throwback to the screwball comedies of the 40s, WHAT'S UP, DOC?  I'd heard this was a classic.  I'd heard this was hilarious.  I'd heard this was eminently quotable. But why did no one tell me this has one of the best vehicular chases ever committed to film?!!! 0:00 - Trivial Trivia 15:57 - What's Up, Doc? review 58:50 - Next episode's mandated movie We'll be back in two weeks with another mandated movie.  If you'd like to watch it, click here to find where it's streaming or available to rent. Movie Mandates: THE LIGHTHOUSE (Single Location)

Welcome to Movie Mandates, a review show in which sibling cinephiles Andrew and Keleigh force each other to watch movies according to a monthly theme!  We're wrapping up Single Location month with Keleigh's mandated movie: The Lighthouse, a moody, black and white drama where Robert Pattinson beats the ever loving crap out of a seagull. I mean, other stuff does happen but come on, you know we're all here for the seagull pummeling! 0:00 - Trivial Trivia 10:48- The Lighthouse review 1:06:43- Next episode's mandated movie We'll be back in two weeks with another mandated movie.  If you'd like to watch it, click here to find where it's streaming or available to rent. Movie Mandates: ROPE (Single Location)

Welcome to Movie Mandates, a review show in which sibling cinephiles Andrew and Keleigh force each other to watch movies according to a monthly theme!  This month, we're watching movies that take place in a Single Location and up first is my mandated movie: Rope.  In this Hitchcock thriller, two guys murder a dude with a length of the titular rope, hide the body, then invite a bunch of people into their home to see if they can keep their nerves, anxiety, and guilt in check and get through a dinner party without tipping anyone off. But then their victim comes back to life and starts feasting on the brains of their guests!  Okay, I made that last part up but it's still a movie worth pointing your eyeballs at for 80 minutes! 0:00 - Trivial Trivia 14:48 - Rope review 59:30 - Next episode's mandated movie We'll be back in two weeks with another mandated movie.  If you'd like to watch it, click here to find where it's streaming or available to rent. Movie Mandates: METROPOLIS (Silent Movies)

Welcome to Movie Mandates, a review show in which sibling cinephiles Andrew and Keleigh force each other to watch movies according to a monthly theme!  We're closing out Silent Movies month with Keleigh's mandated movie: METROPOLIS, a visually stunning film that shrugs and gestures in the general direction of important themes.  Capitalism!  Class structure!  Wealth inequality!  Workers' rights! According to this movie, those are definitely all things! 0:00 - Trivial Trivia 12:35 - Metropolis review 1:00:45 - Next episode's mandated movie We'll be back in two weeks with another mandated movie.  If you'd like to watch it, click here to find where it's streaming or available to rent.
