Descripción

Welcome to Princess Diaries! This episode features the incredible Joselyn Johnson as we celebrate the return of the 5th Annual Juneteenth Family Fest Charleston, taking place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Riverfront Park. This event holds a special place in my heart because I had the honor of hosting the inaugural Juneteenth Family Fest, and it has been amazing to watch it grow and thrive under Joselyn’s leadership. Juneteenth in Charleston carries profound historical significance. Nearly half of the enslaved Africans brought to America entered through Charleston, making this celebration a powerful tribute to our ancestors, our resilience, and the generations still to come. The festival will feature live entertainment, Black art, cultural food, community resources, family-friendly activities, HBCU representatives, and a spectacular fireworks finale. Join us as we discuss the vision behind this incredible event, its impact on the community, and why coming together to celebrate freedom, culture, and progress matters now more than ever.
