I want to talk about something today that might seem really trivial at first. But for me, it turned out to be a major game-changer in my health. Welcome to Quantum Waves of Wellness. I’m your host, Dr. Paula Apro—Doctor of Natural Medicine, holistic health mentor, and your guide to unlocking the healing power within. Today, I’m going to share a personal story about seemingly safe substances that we consume every single day and how they can quietly have a huge impact on our health. For most of my life, I suffered from ridiculously itchy ears. The urge to itch my ears was overwhelming, and it literally put me in danger when downhill mountain biking or driving my motorcycle. Knowing it wasn’t safe, I still just HAD to take one of my hands off the handlebars to scratch my ears. I went to see an ear, nose, and throat specialist, and he offered me about 5 minutes of his time and handed me a food allergy list of the things that I should avoid, while writing me a prescription for an ointment to drop into my ears. I gotta say, that ointment, whatever it was, worked like a charm. One drop and I had immediate relief. Problem solved, right? Wrong. When my insurance company decided they would no longer cover it and I found out the tiny bottle of ointment would cost me hundreds of dollars a month, I went back to suffering with itchy years. For YEARS. Most of my life, in fact. Until about four years ago, when I went to see an iridologist. This is somebody who studies the color variations of the iris of your eyeballs and links this information back to your health status. I was always curious about this modality, and during that session, I was told that spices and seasonings were one of the biggest stressors on my system. Specifically, that they were putting a burden on my kidneys and were linked to uric acid. At the time, I was also dealing with gout in one of my toes. So I already knew my body was struggling with something inflammatory. That part wasn’t a mystery. But spices? They were never on my radar. I spent years trying to figure out what foods caused the problems until I finally gave up and determined that EVERYTHING made my ears itch. So this was a very interesting discovery. I followed her advice to be very strict about what I use. Positively no onion or garlic powder (which is used in nearly everything in a restaurant), and I was also instructed to never touch anything with additional flavoring, especially potato chips. I followed this advice and threw away almost all of my spices. Just about all of my cooking is as bland and tasteless as can be, but guess what? My itchy ear problem has almost completely subsided. Now I just want to remind you that when you have a symptom, and it can be anything, it’s your body’s way of trying to tell you something. Yes, I get that itchy ears aren’t life-threatening, and I could have easily lived the rest of my life with the itchiness. But that was a sign that my kidneys were struggling, and the next symptom that showed up (the gout in my toes) was my next message. Not many people might connect itchy ears to painful toes, but for me, they were absolutely connected. And I should also mention that my fingers were also starting to get swollen, stiff, and very sore. All of this has been resolved. My toes and fingers shrank back to normal size with no more pain, and I pretty much forgot all about this story. Until last month . . . My stepdaughter came to stay with us for about a month, and she is an amazing cook. Everything she made was full of flavor, and I really enjoyed eating tasty food again. But within a few days, I noticed something. My ears started itching again. Not occasionally—almost constantly. And it hit me pretty quickly. Nothing else had changed. The only real difference was what I was eating. The seasonings were back. It was such a clear reminder that my body hadn’t forgotten. And then, almost right after she left, I came across a video on YouTube all about spices that I will share in the show notes. The timing was perfect because it reinforced everything I had already experienced firsthand. The video breaks down something that most people don’t think about. We assume spices are harmless, clean, and maybe even beneficial. But when you actually look at what’s in a lot of these blends… It’s not just herbs and spices. There are fillers. Anti-caking agents. Preservatives. Ingredients labeled as “natural flavors,” which can mean a lot of different things...usually all toxic. Sometimes, even added sugars. And it made me think about how careful so many people try to be. We buy organic foods. We avoid processed foods. We read the nutrition labels. But then we reach for something we use every single day—without ever really thinking about it. And that’s the part that struck me the most. It’s not always the big things that we have to watch out for (like going to McDonald’s or eating a ½ gallon of ice cream). It’s the small things that we do consistently and constantly. Those things that we don’t even think twice about. For me, it showed up as itchy ears. For someone else, it might show up very differently. But the point is, the body notices and tries to let you know if there’s a problem. I just want to take this opportunity to encourage you to watch that video and take a good hard look at your spice rack. Maybe even get curious enough to experiment a little. Try removing something for a period of time and see how your body responds. Then bring it back in and notice what changes. And don’t forget that I can test you, energetically speaking. I can tell if any substance is negatively affecting your energy and therefor your health. If you’re interested in that service, please just reach out. Sometimes the answers we’re looking for are hiding in the most unexpected places, and I can help you uncover them. Thanks so much for listening to this episode of Quantum Waves of Wellness. Wired, Tired, and Energetically Overloaded

Hello everyone, and welcome back to Quantum Waves of Wellness. I’m your host, Dr. Paula Apro, holistic health mentor, energy guru, and your guide to unlocking the healing power within. Today I’m going to explore some hidden energetic influences affecting your health and a possible way to better thrive in today’s challenging world. There is something lurking all around us that we cannot see… cannot smell… and often, we don’t even think about… yet we are immersed in it every single day. And that is EMFs. Those evil Electromagnetic frequencies. Don’t get me wrong, I love technology as much as the next person, and I would be lost without it. We live in a wireless world that makes things very convenient every single day. There’s no going back to life without wireless technology. But the reality is this… The human body was never designed to be surrounded by this level of constant man-made electromagnetic exposure 24 hours a day. For thousands of years, humans lived primarily within the Earth’s natural electromagnetic environment. Today, we are swimming in an ocean of artificial frequencies coming from cell towers, wireless routers, smart homes, tablets, smart watches, earbuds, televisions, and devices that stay way too close to our bodies almost constantly. And while science continues to debate just how much impact these EMFs may have on human biology, most of us don’t need a scientific report to realize that we simply don’t feel well. We’re more wired and tired. More restless. More anxious. More mentally foggy. And perhaps most commonly of all… We’re not sleeping well. I can’t tell you how many of my clients complain about waking up between 2 and 4 in the morning every single day, unable to get back into deep restorative sleep. I have always been able to relate because, after menopause, I was also one of them. I think I just resolved to the fact that “as you get older, it’s harder to sleep.” And after menopause, hormones are imbalanced. That was just a fact of life. I guess I figured that if that was my biggest problem, then I’m doing alright. I never really tried to address it or improve it. And maybe there’s another little lesson here. You know how when you focus too much on something that is wrong, and you try too hard to “fix yourself?” Well, things rarely improve if you’re focusing on the negative. I wasn’t giving my sleep disruption a single thought, and now I’m finding it almost funny that I greatly improved it, quite by accident. And how did I do that? Well, I recently acquired a new device called the Qi-Me device from a company called Waveguard. They claim to help the human body better handle EMFs. There are so many other products out there making similar claims that I just wasn’t quite sure I was buying it. The industry can get really hard to navigate because you don’t know who to trust. Luckily for me, I have the superpower to be able to test energy, and that’s exactly what I did the minute I took the product out of the package. I have to say, I was a bit skeptical based on its very simplistic design. It’s basically a block of wood with a golden metal plate on top. What caught my attention about this particular product is that it does not actually claim to block EMFs or shut down your WiFi signal. Instead, the company says the device uses what they call a patented depolarization process designed to transform concentrated man-made electromagnetic radiation into a more dispersed form that behaves more like naturally occurring environmental frequencies. Now this is interesting. It seemed to be a very different approach. In simple language, the idea is not to eliminate technology…but to help the body interact with these frequencies differently. And now that I think about it, I didn’t exactly test for bad energy. In other words, I have special pendulums that can detect toxic energy. Rather than using one of those, I instead used a pendulum that measures the strength of my own biofield. I first measured myself to get a baseline. Then I placed my hand over my laptop, which was turned on with Bluetooth and wifi both activated, and I tested my energy again. No big surprise, it tanked. Then, I kept my hand over the laptop and picked up the Qi-Me block and watched the pendulum spin increase until it was stronger than my baseline energy. Impressive! The part about the Qi-Me product that I love is that it’s passive and requires no charging, batteries, apps, or setup. You simply keep it near you — on your body, at your desk, or near your bed. What I didn’t like about it was that, although it is small, it’s not small enough to wear or carry with you everywhere. The only thing I could imagine doing with it was either putting it on my desk near my computer or leaving it on my nightstand. Since I am constantly moving around the house with my computer and I no longer consistently sit in my office, I decided to just place it on my nightstand. After that, I pretty much forgot all about it. It was after about 3 weeks that I was having a conversation with somebody about how my sleep has been amazing. I mean, I now sleep throughout most nights without waking up at all. My husband getting up doesn’t wake me up. My dog moving about the bed doesn’t wake me up. And apparently my hormones are no longer waking me up. It was shortly after this conversation when it dawned on me that I placed that little block of wood on my nightstand. Could that be making the difference? I honestly can’t tell you anything definitively. I mean, how could it be proven? All I can say is that I’m impressed with the little product. I have no idea how it works, but then again, I couldn’t really explain most of the healing tools that I use. That’s what I love the most about energy medicine. You don’t have to understand it or even believe it for it to work. I believe in the Qi-Me enough to stand behind it. I feel that the more little things we can do daily to reduce our toxic exposure, the better off we will be. Many of us buy organic foods and steer clear of toxic cleaning products, but we also can’t forget that humans are energetic beings living inside energetic environments. Everything carries frequency. Everything carries information. And our bodies are constantly responding to the invisible world around us. So whether you explore EMF reduction through grounding, limiting screen exposure, turning off devices at night, spending more time in nature, or experimenting with tools like this one… take small steps in the right direction as often as you can. If you’re interested in learning more about the Qi-Me product, there’s a link in my show notes. Thank you so much for joining me for another episode of Quantum Waves of Wellness. Portada del episodio Less Is Always More

Less Is Always More

We live in a world that constantly tells us we need more of everything. More products to buy, more choices to make, and more information to take in. It never seems to end, and the more we have, the more we seem to need. I am as guilty as everyone else when it comes to this, and especially as it relates to information and healing tools. At what point will I decide that I have enough? Hello and welcome to another episode of Quantum Waves of Wellness. I’m your host, Dr. Paula Apro—Doctor of Natural Medicine, holistic health mentor, and your guide to unlocking the healing power within. Today, I want to explore a simple but powerful concept: less is always more. And how simplifying your life can dramatically shift your health, your energy, and your peace of mind. I just happen to be in a good place to make this observation. You see, for the past 4 months I’ve been living in our new, much smaller house. We like to call this “our cabin in the woods.” We relocated from Maine for the winter, hauling a small enclosed motorcycle trailer, filled mostly with new items for the new house and a boatload of my husband’s tools. I kept the items that I brought to a minimum due to the limited space, not only in the truck and trailer, but also in the much smaller house. This means that I’m living with a small fraction of my wardrobe, a sampling of my kitchen gadgets, and, more importantly, only a couple of healing tools from my vast collection back at home. And I gotta say, this “living with less” experience has been very powerful for me. The first time this thought struck me, I was standing in front of our shared six-foot closet rather than my very own large walk-in closet that I’m accustomed to at home. I quickly realized that with fewer options, getting dressed became much easier. At first, I missed all of my usual clothing options, but I got over that pretty quickly. I noticed the same thing in the kitchen. Instead of an overstuffed pantry filled with random ingredients and spices I rarely use, now, I simply buy what I need for the week, and that’s it. Dinner decisions became easier, and there was no staring at the pantry wondering what to make. These things made me realize something… We are so accustomed to thinking that more choices are better. But have you ever sat at a restaurant reading through a 15-page menu and the server keeps coming back while you’re still trying to decide what you want? Many times, fewer options are just so much easier. Too many choices can create mental fatigue and pressure. I know... with food, choices are usually a good thing. But less is still more when it comes to quantity. Yes, food is necessary. We need it to survive, but more is never better—especially with the quality of food available today. The more we consume, the more we expose ourselves to additives, chemicals, and pesticides. So even when we think we’re doing something healthy, like eating lots of fruit and veggies, we may actually be increasing the burden on the body. Sometimes, giving the body less to process is one of the most supportive things we can do. And then there’s our environment. We’re conditioned to believe that bigger is better. Bigger homes, more space, more stuff. I learned this lesson firsthand this winter. Smaller is so much more freeing. It’s less to manage, less to clean, and less to maintain. And we can’t ignore one of the biggest sources of overload, which is media. The constant stream of fear-mongering news and social media is overwhelming. It’s all designed to trigger fear and stress, and it works like a charm. This has a direct negative impact on your nervous system and your energy. So therefore, the less you consume, the more stable, calm, and clear you can feel. And who doesn’t want to feel more calm and clear? But the biggest lesson for me this winter… was regarding my healing tools. At home, I have what I would honestly call an overwhelming number of tools. And one might ask, “If any of them really worked, why would I need so many?” And that is a fair and valid question and point, which leads to my biggest guilt when it comes to “too much.” I can’t seem to stop taking in information, education, knowledge, etc. I learn about all kinds of ways to heal the body, and I can’t stop myself from diving in and trying them. But this created the same problem of the overstuffed closet. Too darn many choices, so it’s harder to stay focused and consistent. Here in the cabin, I only brought four tools with me. A very small subset of what I have at home. And something really interesting happened. Because I had fewer options, I used them more consistently. I became more focused and more intentional. It was magical, and I developed a much deeper appreciation for each one. Space didn’t allow me to bring my big and powerful equipment. I only brought the small handheld devices that could fit into my purse. Maybe back home, when I had my full inventory, I didn’t give these tools the full credit they deserved. I want to share just a couple of instances where I used these tools over the past month that made me really appreciate just how powerful these little suckers are... Adjusting to southern cooking has been… an experience. I’ve never been to a BBQ house before, I still don’t know what grits are, and I can’t figure out if southern so-called “side dishes” are really just undercover desserts. My taste buds have certainly been enjoying all of this yumminess, but my stomach, not so much. Since I don’t typically deal with stomach discomfort, my recent tummy aches gave me the perfect opportunity to work with it. I used two different tools during these situations, the Healy [https://mariposaenergy.co/healy/] and the miHealth [https://mariposaenergy.co/mihealth-biofeedback-device/], and both seemed to really ease the pain almost immediately. Then came something even more significant. After several days of physical labor working on the house, I developed intense muscle tightness that progressed into shooting nerve pain in my hip. While I was in the first stage of muscle lock-up, I did a quick Healy [https://mariposaenergy.co/healy/] scan to find out which program I most needed. After doing hundreds of these scans, this was the first time the “Fitness” group came up as first priority. And when I looked to see which of the Fitness programs I needed most, “Muscle Harmony” was the first priority listed. Amazing! So I ran this program a couple of times, and there is no doubt it took the edge off. I can’t say the muscles completely relaxed and went back to normal, but that might also be because I never stopped working my tail off on the house. Without giving myself the recovery time I needed, I can’t expect the healing tools to work miracles. But then, due to my stubbornness with the continual physical labor, the muscles continued to lock up until finally I was in a situation of constant nerve pain radiating down through my right hip. When that nerve pain struck, I suddenly got very motivated to heal. This time, I picked up a biofeedback device called the miHealth [https://mariposaenergy.co/mihealth-biofeedback-device/] and ran some programs specifically focused on nerve pain. I almost still can’t believe the results. Within 15 minutes, the pain went from constant… to completely gone. It’s been over a week, and I’m very happy to report that it has not returned at all. All of these experiences this winter have made me realize how hard it is to focus and appreciate our belongings when we have an overwhelming amount of distractions. With fewer choices, we can become more focused. And when our energy is focused, our results become more powerful. Maybe most of our problems are because we have too much. Too many decisions.Too many distractions.Too many options pulling our energy in different directions. And all of that… works against the body’s natural ability to heal. Maybe having less isn’t about deprivation, but instead it’s about creating the space for your body to do what it’s designed to do. And this is exactly what I’m hoping to do at my new ZenDen [https://zenden-signup.getresponsesite.com/], an environment designed to experience different healing tools in a simple, guided, intentional way. I want to save you from the information overload and the collecting of too many unnecessary healing tools. Let me help you find what works for YOU. Because the truth is, there isn’t one single tool that is best for everyone. The key is finding the one that resonates with you. Pun intended. And when you do find your tool, and you stay consistent with it…that’s where real transformation begins. So I’ll leave you with this: Where in your life can you begin to remove instead of add? Because sometimes…less truly is more.
