Portada del episodio Megan's Story: Birth, Broken, & Becoming

Megan's Story: Birth, Broken, & Becoming

In this deeply personal episode of Raising Grace, I'm joined by my dear friend Megan—a wife, mom of five, doula, and birth assistant—as she courageously shares the stories of all five of her births, including the unexpected trauma surrounding her fifth delivery. Megan opens up about the invisible wounds of birth trauma, postpartum anxiety, and the long road of healing that followed. Together, we talk about the loneliness trauma can bring, the courage it takes to ask for help, and the importance of surrounding yourself with people who will walk alongside you through life's hardest seasons. Megan shares how counseling, family support, and ultimately a deeper dependence on God's Word became part of her healing journey when the things she once relied on could no longer carry her. This conversation is both tender and hope-filled. Whether you've experienced birth trauma yourself, are walking alongside someone who has, or simply need the reminder that healing is possible, I pray Megan's story encourages you to keep reaching for hope, one step at a time. Please note: This episode contains discussion of traumatic birth experiences, emergency medical situations, postpartum anxiety, and postpartum depression, which may be difficult for some listeners.

Trust Their Heart: Building a Mother-in-Law & Daughter-in-Law Relationship with Shawn Groves

In this special episode, I'm joined by my mother-in-law, Shawn Groves, to talk about trust, family, and the unique relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Together, we discuss God's design for marriage and family, the importance of trust, and how healthy relationships are built through consistency, respect, and grace over time. Shawn shares the best advice she ever gave me: "Trust their heart," and we explore how that simple wisdom has shaped our relationship and strengthened our family. Drawing inspiration from the story of Ruth and Naomi, we talk about what it looks like to intentionally invest in one another, build trust through both joyful and difficult seasons, and create a family legacy that brings people together rather than drives them apart. Whether you're a mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, or simply hoping to build stronger family connections, I pray this conversation encourages you to lead with trust, choose respect, and invest in the relationships God has given you.

We Thought Our Story Would Be Different: 3 Miscarriages and a Promise

This is one of the most personal stories I’ve ever shared. It starts with a moment I’ll never forget. My husband walking through the front door, completely shaken. He had just experienced something that would change everything. He felt God clearly promise that we would have a son. That same night, we found out we were pregnant. And then we experienced not one, but three back-to-back pregnancy losses. Through the heartbreak, God began to teach us something deeper: how to trust Him even when the story doesn’t make sense. This episode is about learning to hold onto His promise instead of our own plans, and trusting that even when God isn’t changing your circumstances, He is still working in you, through you, and for you. If you’re in a season of loss, waiting, or uncertainty, I hope this reminds you that your story isn’t over. God is still writing it.
