Vipassana: 10 days in Silence- Dr Nehal Doshi

What happens when you remove every distraction, every conversation, every form of escape and are left alone with your own mind for 10 straight days? On a mission to master her mind and develop a deeper self-awareness, Dr Nehal Doshi @drnehaldoshi signed up for Vipassana, a 10-day silent meditation retreat with absolutely no expectations of what she would find. Just hours upon hours of meditation and the opportunity to confront every thought, emotion, and mental habit that surfaced. In this episode, Nehal takes us behind the scenes of her experience. She shares what the meditation was really like, the moments she wanted to quit, the breakthroughs she didn't see coming, and the powerful lessons she brought back into her everyday life. Whether you're interested in meditation, personal growth, mental resilience, or simply understanding what happens when the mind is given nowhere to run, this conversation offers a fascinating glimpse into Nehal's journey inward. ************************************************ Sign up to our newsletter: https://tejals-newsletter-6ee8e5.beehiiv.com/ Instagram: [https://www.instagram.com/rootsandresiliencepodcast/profilecard/?igsh=MW11NG40ZmZkdnRqdw==] @Rootsandresiliencepodcast Email: rootsandresiliencepodcast@gmail.com [rootsandresiliencepodcast@gmail.com] ************************************************ Subscribe and Comment: Loved this episode? A Doctor and An Editor: Dr Shivali Fulchand

Dr Shivali Fulchand @skadeca has a passion for shaping the future of healthcare. Although she trained and qualified in medicine, her creative instincts and love of writing were always close at hand. During her student years, she channeled that energy into founding a medical journal for students that continues to thrive today, a testament to her early vision and drive. Whilst working in hospitals,  Shivali found herself increasingly drawn to the bigger picture - questioning not just how medicine is practiced, but how it can be improved. That curiosity led her to explore different perspectives beyond the clinical environment including completing a Postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University (USA) and working a corporate job as a consultant. Today, she brings together her clinical insight and creative flair in her role as an editor for the British Medical Journal, helping to shape conversations that influence the future of healthcare. In this episode, we explore her unique journey, the ideas that drive her, and what it means to look at medicine through a wider lens.
