You Don't Have to Reach Everyone | Acts 8

What if changing the world doesn't start with thousands... but with one person? When Philip left a thriving ministry to walk a lonely desert road, it probably didn't make sense. But on that road was one man whose life—and whose influence—would be changed forever. So often we think following Jesus means doing something big, speaking to crowds, or having all the answers. But what if God is simply asking you to be faithful to the one person He's placed in front of you? In this message from Acts 8, we discover: • Why obedience often begins outside our comfort zone. • How the Holy Spirit leads ordinary people to extraordinary moments. • Why your hesitation may be keeping someone from hearing the hope of Jesus. • How one conversation can change someone's eternity. You don't have to reach everyone. Just one. If you've ever wondered whether your faith is making a difference—or if God could really use someone like you—this message is for you. The Most Dangerous Kind of Faith

What if the greatest danger isn't rejecting Jesus... but believing you're following Him when you're not? In Acts 8, we're introduced to two men who appear to have faith. Both witness God's power. Both respond to the gospel. But only one experiences genuine transformation. In this message, we wrestle with one of the most sobering questions every believer should ask: Do I want God... or do I just want what He can do for me? It's possible to love God's gifts more than God Himself. We can seek His forgiveness, His blessings, His provision, or His protection while never truly surrendering our lives to Him. Simon the magician wanted God's power for his own gain. Philip simply wanted God to use him. That raises a question every one of us must answer: Am I allowing God to use me, or am I trying to use God for my own purposes? Too often, we've reduced following Jesus to a formula: Pray a prayer. Get baptized. Go to church. Serve. Give. Know the right answers. But Jesus never said those things were the evidence of genuine faith. He said the evidence would be a transformed life marked by surrender, obedience, and lasting fruit. This message isn't meant to scare you—it's meant to wake you up. Not so you'll live in fear, but so you'll honestly examine whether your faith is centered on Jesus or on what you hope to gain from Him. Whether you've followed Christ for years or you're still exploring faith, our prayer is that this message moves you beyond cultural Christianity and into a genuine relationship with Jesus.
