[https://standupforthetruth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/jayseegert-240x300.jpg]Mary welcomes back Jay Seegert [http://thestartingpointproject.com] to talk about foundations, starting points, and worldviews. Communicating with the lost sometimes is reduced to arguing on social media, but that is reducing a pretty complex interaction to trying to out-talk and outlast people we don’t really know, about complex topics that the person probably already has strong opinions about. In the current social landscape, there must be a better way to reason with people and get to the heart of the matter. It’s not about facts that we can convincingly debate, it’s spiritual, and people already have their own preconceived ideas and emotional investments concerning God, and life and death. Is that landscape conducive to contending for the faith? Jay helps the listener understand that there is a way to stick with biblical “starting points” to seek to convince people that 1) God exists and 2) the Bible is His Word, and all the ramifications of that. Anything else is a false starter and rocky foundation.     Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline [https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline] & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A]

Don Veinot: Guarding the Flock in the Digital Age

[https://standupforthetruth.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/veinot-239x300.jpg]Mary welcomes back Don Veinot [http://midwestoutreach.org] to discuss pastoring in the digital age: are pastors aware of the ways social media is shaping those in their care? One recent study reports that teens spend an astounding 10 hours every day on their cell phones, with tweens (ages 8-12) logging in at nearly 6 hours. Adults, on average, devote four hours and 25 minutes to scrolling. This means adults will spend over two months on their phones this year. When you consider that most Christians only spend a handful of hours each week worshiping, studying the bible, and in fellowship, we have to ask if we are being discipled more by our devices than anything else. In the 1970s even, what shaped youth was school, parents, community, perhaps church, and books and music; sometimes TV. But now capturing hearts and minds in these last days is a simple scroll away.  Are we keeping up? How can the church counter any of its influence? Is it too late? A thoughtful conversation with a long-time apologist who loves the church.     Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline [https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline] & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A]

Andy Woods: Pressure Cooker Planet

[https://standupforthetruth.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Andy-Woods-274x300.jpg]Mary welcomes back Pastor Andy Woods [http://slbc.org] to talk about all the ways the world is heating up and bringing pressure to bear on believers and Jews alike – and prophecy fulfillment marches on. Today we look at the scary upgrade to automatic license plate readers (ALPRs). While some communities will surely wrestle with a tech that can provide entry points to our vehicle worlds in multiple ways, regardless of the pushback they will likely prevail. What kind of intrusion is this? A massive one. We also look at Canada’s C9 bill that tightens the noose around believers who wish to quote the Bible for all things pertaining to life and godliness. Is anyone home up north anymore with a conscience? We follow the story of the Jewish man in Ohio who simply wanted a prayer meeting in his home but was harassed at every turn. More stories: Erdogan’s Ottoman ambitions; Iraq port and highway development plan; the Presbyterian’s presbyopia about divestment and LGBTQ pastors; and the Scofield kerfuffle (this is a doozy). A very full hour with a fantastically knowledgeable guest.     Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline [https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline] & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A]

Headlines: Choose This Day

[https://standupforthetruth.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/the-danielsens-300x200.png]On this edition of SUFTT – Headlines, Tim and Mary talk about all the ways and means put before us to make choices. Hopefully godly ones, and choices that can make for our peace – or steal it outright. And watching the news generally brings only one of those to fruition every hour of every day. People can of course choose to tune it all out, but then there is the danger of not knowing what or how to choose according to a proper worldview, and understanding more about what NOT to do. It’s complicated in a way, but finding that balance between knowing and not knowing is often very difficult and can steal our joy and energy. Today we look at the idea of free will and why some say that humans are so depraved they can’t choose anything having to do with eternity. We look at the religion of the day: tolerance. And the end game, which is the more the culture becomes tolerant, the more they marginalize Christians who appear to be INtolerant but in reality only point up the intolerance of the culture. We look at the increasing inroads of Islam and the ignition point of Europe today: France. A full hour of headline – choices.   Stand Up For The Truth Videos: https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline [https://rumble.com/user/CTRNOnline] & https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQQSvKiMcglId7oGc5c46A]
