Heat and humidity ramp up with a few afternoon storms • This morning is mild and muggy with temperatures in the lower 70s. • This morning will be dry under mostly clear skies. • Today will be HOT and humid with highs in the lower to mid 90s. o Feels like temperatures of 100-105 degrees. • An isolated afternoon shower or storm is likely today moving west to east. o Should be less coverage than yesterday afternoon. o Some neighborhoods received 1-2.5 inches of rain on Sunday. • Locally heavy rain and lightning are the primary threats. Winds could gust to 40 mph+ with any storms. • Tuesday is hot and humid as well. Highs will reach the lower to mid 90s with only an isolated afternoon storm. Feels like temperatures will be 100-105F this afternoon. • Showers and thunderstorms should develop by early to mid afternoon generally east of Highway 301 to the coast. • Some wet roads for the evening commute. • Storms will be moving east today. • Storm hazards today will be similar to yesterday: Heavy rain and lightning. • Scattered showers and storms return on Friday. • Father's Day weekend will feature afternoon storms on Saturday with a bit less coverage on Sunday. Afternoon storms expected, along with heat and humidity This morning is warm and humid with temperatures in the 70s. Today will be another very hot day with highs rising into the lower to middle 90s. Feels like temperatures will be 100F+ this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms should develop across the area by midday to the west of Jacksonville. Showers and storms will move into Duval county by 2-4 pm from the west/southwest. Storms will be moving E/NE today. Storm hazards today will be similar to yesterday: Very heavy rain, lightning, and strong gusty winds. The week continues to be unsettled and summer-like: Hot and humid each day with mainly afternoon/evening showers and thunderstorms. All neighborhoods should receive beneficial rain over the next week, with some localized spots receiving 1-2+ inches wherever thunderstorms repeat. TROPICS: No active storms. One area to watch near the TX/LA coastline for low-end tropical development over the next 24 hours. Any disturbance would skim the TX/LA coastline and be inland by Thursday, if it develops.
