Descripción

This episode features my interview with the legendary guitarist and founding member of KISS, Ace Frehley! Ace helped form KISS in 1973 and remained in the band until 1982, when he embarked on a solo career. In 1996, he re-joined KISS for a reunion tour, and remained in the band until 2002. Ace Frehley, along with the three other original members of KISS, were recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I conducted this interview with Ace during the run-up to the release of his solo album, Anomaly, in 2009. This was his first solo release in 20 years, and the expectations were high. He and his band were about to begin an international tour in support of the album, and that tour began in Council Bluffs, IA, which is a mere 10 minutes from midtown Omaha.  I have been a lifelong KISS fan, and this was, literally, a dream come true for me. I hope you enjoy the episode. This interview has never been aired anywhere. It is 100% exclusive to this podcast. My Interview with Jason Narducy (Bob Mould, Superchunk, Split Single, Sunny Day Real Estate)

This episode features my interview with musician Jason Narducy. He is probably best known as a member of Bob Mould's band, as well as for playing with Superchunk, Sunny Day Real Estate, and his own bands, Verbow and Split Single. He also has a project with actor, Michael Shannon, where they cover the music of R.E.M. Jason recently conducted a solo, "living room" tour where he performs intimate shows inside of fan's homes. In advance of his appearance in Omaha, I spoke to Jason for a piece on my radio show, New Day Rising [https://www.newdayrisingshow.com/]. After the piece aired and I caught Jason's show (which was awesome, btw), I realized that  I had about 20 minutes or so of interview that was left on the cutting room floor. And here we are... Here is the full interview I conducted with Jason along with some clips and photos from his solo show, and from recent appearances with Bob Mould and Superchunk. Hope you dig it. WEIRD NIGHTMARE: Interview with Alex Edkins // New Album 'Hoopla' and Tour! // METZ

Hey everyone, and welcome to the new episode. I am joined by a very special guest, Alex Edkins of Weird Nightmare. Weird Nightmare has just released its second album, Hoopla. From Subpop.com,  "...from the psychedelic 1960s to the DIY 1990s and beyond. Hoopla, the catchy, melodic second LP from Edkins’s solo project Weird Nightmare, mixes and matches these influences in fun and exhilarating combinations, displaying his sophisticated musical mind." Critics have made comparisons to similar psychedelic, fuzzed out, power-pop classics from Cheap Trick, The Byrds, Elvis Costello, The Kinks. The Flaming Lips, Spoon, The Replacements, and more. The album is a whirlwind of guitar pop styles and sounds. A true masterpiece. Many of you will know Alex from his former (?) band, METZ. That band made some of the most intense, heavy, and noisy punk rock of the 2000s, and recorded five albums for Sub Pop. According to Alex, METZ are on an "indefinite hiatus."  Find The Dark Stuff on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Thedarkstuff [https://www.youtube.com/@Thedarkstuff]

Interview with HAIR PERSON: NEW Music From a Band You Need To Hear!

On this episode, I am interviewing an excellent, new band called Hair Person. The band has just released its debut album, Dorsia. Hair Person is an electronic duo consisting of Sara Bertuldo (vocals, synths) and Erin Feichtinger (drums). The band's sound is a potent mix of dark, 80s and 90s synth music with pop song sensibilities. Folks mighty know Sara from her lengthy experience in the Omaha music scene - including being in the bands See Through Dresses and Millions of Boys. With this new project, Sara has moved to synths, and is the sole lead singer. Erin has been playing for a few years, but this is actually her first band. You can find the band's music on their bandcamp: https://hairperson.bandcamp.com/album...
