This year, Emma Lawrence became the first woman in history to play-by-play commentate an NRL game. But behind that epic achievement is 15 years of hustling in the sports media industry. From starting as an unpaid intern at the Parramatta Eels to becoming one of the most recognisable Rugby League voices on both Fox Sports and Channel Nine, Emma opens up on how her work ethic and determination have guided her career and shares plenty of advice for those looking to find their way in the sports media industry. tameka yallop's journey to becoming the brisbane roar's most-capped womens player

Tameka Yallop is the second-highest goal scorer in A-League Women's history. And when you look back upon her career, there’s little wonder why. By 12 years old, Meeks was already playing in Open Women's football teams and just four years later made her Matildas debut. By 17,  she was playing in the inaugural season of the W-League, which set her up for success in some of the world’s best football leagues – playing in seven different countries throughout her career.   Now in 2026, she’s back raring to go, where it all began at the Brisbane Roar.
