The term sin refers to any behavior, word, or thought that is contrary to what God intends for us to do. Adam brought a curse upon humanity with his act of disobedience in human history. Jesus' perfect sacrifice for our sins is the basis of our salvation when we call upon the name of the Lord. The new heavens and earth that He will create will replace what was destroyed by sin.
