Descripción

Welcome to the 4th episode of the Strength Project, a limited series from the makers of The Women’s Running Podcast. I’m Esther, and she’s Holly, and we are here to help! We all know that we should be strength training these days, but it’s so confusing figuring out where to start. So we’ve put together a series designed to cut through the jargon, answer your questions AND get you fitter and stronger as a result. The two of us will be here every week on a Tuesday, assisted by the gorgeous Kate, our resident PT and strength coach who can answer all the questions we can’t. If you have any more questions, or you’d just like to drop us a line, we would love to hear from you at wrpodcast@anthem.co.uk [wrpodcast@anthem.co.uk] HOW TO JUGGLE TRAINING In our fourth episode, we’re talking about how to fit our strength training into our busy days. We speak to Kate at the end of the episode about food – what should we be eating before and after training, and how much protein do we need. The homework exercise focuses on a new leg exercise – the lunge. We talk through correct form, with lots of different variations, as always starting with a very accessible move. This week, let’s try doing 3 sets of 10. And that’s it! To help you get stronger this summer, we’ve got a brilliant deal on Women’s Running magazine. If you go to womensrunning.co.uk/podsquad [https://shop.womensrunning.co.uk/become-a-member/print-plus.htm?promo=SS26WRPOD], you can pick up the next three issues for just £14.99, AND you’ll get a super strong free gift too – a bundle of three Freyja Resistance bands worth £14.95. Ep 310. The ballot, and the Double debate

Welcome to episode 310 of the Women’s Running podcast. I’m your host Esther Newman and she’s your other host Holly Taylor. On this podcast we talk about health, politics, stuff on TV and what we ate last night. Occasionally, we talk about running. THE BALLOT! It’s one of those weeks where we think there’s not a lot to talk about, and then it turns out there is! For a start, we’ve gone and won ourselves an award – and one that’s, shockingly, in recognition of our services to sports podcasting! Ha! My, how we laughed. But we have a proper trophy and everything. And then we’re on to the mega debate of the London Marathon double – the ballot was last week, and I reckon approximately 2 of you got in. So well done you two! But before we get there, let’s discuss the logistics, the costs and the impact of running two major marathons back to back. We finish, as you might expect, on the very serious topic of reptile migratory patterns. THE MAG! If you’re fond of this pod, you are going to LOVE Women’s Running Magazine, and right now if you subscribe, you’ll make a hefty saving AND you’ll get a free gift of 3 Freyja resistance bands to help you get hench this summer. Go to womensrunning.co.uk/podsquad to treat yourself this July. That’s womensrunning.co.uk/podsquad. EARLY ACCESS!
