Nath Trevett from Autism's Got Talent

You judge music by looks, you exploit a thing that way. There's a horizon in every corner but everyone chooses one. It's all the same old story, just a completely different picture. I have no wings nor the ability to fly. I'm not agile but I'm still standing up. Looks and ability: this is a complete difference. Why has everyone painted the whole world black and white? Chorus I've stood for innocence I've stood for the truth and I still can't believe that it takes a long time. What is it exactly that's stopping you from letting me join in the fun? I do things differently but I'm still one, still one like you. You're busy with your entertainment. You do nothing but keep score. No one drives controls here. Only you are your jury. Autism's Got Talent Special!

In this weeks episode, Rich talks growing up as an undiagnosed autistic child/adult and what it was like growing up making friends, masking to fit in and how he had to consider his own authenticity in later life to decide whether to keep having the same friendship behaviours and barriers or whether it was time to show his friends his authentic self. Both masking and his authentic self have been challenging to make friends in the past, but his diagnosis has helped him understand and work with this.
