Sardines Bring In The Fish - KZN REPORT (9 JULY '26)

The KZN school holidays have lined up perfectly with the Sardine Run, bringing exciting fishing action right along the coastline. From the North Coast to the South Coast, baitfish are attracting predators and anglers are enjoying excellent catches. Rock & Surf: The North Coast is producing kob, Garrick, stumpnose and pompano as sardine activity triggers feeding frenzies. The Central Coast continues to deliver Garrick, kob, shad and grey sharks, while the South Coast is seeing good catches of Garrick, kingfish, shad and the occasional shark. Conditions can change quickly, so staying mobile is key. Offshore: Although recent rough seas slowed activity, anglers are still finding couta and snoek on the North Coast, with live bait proving most effective. Central Coast boats are reporting steady snoek catches, while bottom anglers are finding kob and geelbek on the reefs. Further south, tuna have been the standout species, with wahoo making occasional appearances around the deeper reefs and Aliwal Shoal. Freshwater: Cold conditions in the Midlands have pushed trout into spawning mode, making fishing more challenging but rewarding for patient anglers. Stillwaters continue to produce quality rainbow trout, while bloodworm patterns have been particularly effective. Bass fishing remains slow across Midmar and Albert Falls, although Inanda Dam produced impressive catches during the latest KZN Team Tournament Trail event, with the winning bag weighing 16.846kg. With the Sardine Run in full swing and school holidays underway, now is the perfect time to get out and enjoy some of the best fishing KZN has to offer. #KZNFishing #SardineRun #FishingSouthAfrica #KZN #SouthCoast #NorthCoast #OffshoreFishing #RockAndSurf #FreshwaterFishing #FishingReport #Anglers #FishingLife #CatchOfTheDay #FishOn #WinterFishing #ExploreKZN #FishingAdventure #TightLines #FishingCommunity #SouthAfrica #vineshsoogreem Vinesh's website [https://anglernews.co.za/]

Kob And Garrick Madness - KZN REPORT (2 JULY '26)

The school holidays have brought plenty of anglers to the water, and winter conditions continue to deliver some excellent fishing action across KZN. Along the beaches and rocky points, kob, garrick, bream and shad have all featured in catches, with the odd shark adding some excitement. With baitfish still holding along the coastline and anticipation building around the sardine run, anglers have been rewarded with steady action and a wide variety of species. Offshore fishing remains a highlight, with amberjack and snoek leading the charge. Live bait has been the standout option, while trolling lures are producing consistently for anglers covering ground. Tuna have also been providing thrilling action, and bottom fishing has been particularly productive, with kob and geelbek coming from the reefs on chokka and sardine baits. In the Midlands, trout anglers have enjoyed steady catches despite milder-than-usual winter conditions. Brightly coloured flies have been producing fish, while slower presentations with natural patterns are accounting for some of the better specimens. Bass fishing remains relatively quiet, although fish are beginning to show signs of increased activity at Albert Falls and Midmar. With favourable weather windows on the cards and the holidays in full swing, it's a great time to get outdoors and enjoy everything KZN's fisheries have to offer. #KZNFishing #KZN #KwaZuluNatal #SouthAfricaFishing #VisitKZN #EastCoastFishing #DurbanFishing #Kob #Garrick #Shad #Pompano #Stumpnose #Bream #Couta #Snoek #Tuna #Geelbek #TroutFishing #BassFishing #RockAndSurf #OffshoreFishing #BottomFishing #vineshsoogreem Vinesh's website [https://anglernews.co.za/]

Big Fish Ahead Of Sardines - KZN REPORT (25 JUNE '26)

Conditions remain similar to last week, with steady action and a good mix of species being landed along the coast. Baitfish are still plentiful, giving anglers plenty of opportunity with catches have been consistent despite the main sardine shoals not fully arriving yet. Kob, garrick, stumpnose, and pompano are all in the mix, keeping things interesting as anticipation builds. Staying mobile and adapting to changing conditions remains key. The 2026 sardine run is starting to show early signs, and while still building, it’s already creating excitement along the coastline. Offshore fishing continues to perform well, with anglers making the most of favourable weather windows. Winter species are active, and catches remain strong across the region. Overall, winter conditions continue to deliver, with plenty of opportunity for well-prepared anglers. On the freshwater front, winter conditions continue across the Midlands, with water temperatures dropping and fish becoming more active in stillwaters. Trout fishing remains steady with few larger specimens reported. Fish are starting to spawn, making them more selective. Some bass activity has picked up at Midmar and Albert Falls, while Inanda Dam continues to produce quality fish, including a standout 11.11kg bag in competition. Sardine Run 26 Kicks Off - KZN REPORT (18 JUNE '26)

The Sardine Run 2026 has officially arrived along the KZN coastline, with shoals already making their presence felt and attracting plenty of marine activity. Baitfish movement is increasing daily, and predators are beginning to follow, creating exciting opportunities for anglers. Garrick Season Has Arrived - KZN REPORT (11 JUNE '26)

The coastline is firmly in garrick mode, with baitfish thick in the surf and predators feeding throughout the day. Shad remain productive in certain areas, with good quality fish coming out, while kob numbers are steadily building — especially around tide changes and low-light periods. On the rocks, spring tides have opened deeper ledges, producing rockcod, kob, and bronze bream. Water conditions have improved, resulting in more consistent fishing sessions. The north coast is firing with regular kob, shad, and increasing garrick activity, especially at sunrise and sunset. The central coast remains patchy due to recent rough seas but still offers shad, grunter, and shark action. Further south, fishing is quieter but building nicely, with early signs pointing toward a strong winter and possible sardine run. Bottom fishing is producing quality geelbek and daga salmon, while amberjack are keeping things exciting during full moon periods. The north coast is particularly active, with snoek showing in good size and numbers, along with the odd couta. Durban continues to deliver steady snoek action, while down south requires careful weather timing, though fish are still being caught. Cold conditions have settled over the Midlands, with snowfall in higher areas and dropping water temperatures improving stillwater fishing. #FishingPodcast #SAFishing #SouthAfricaFishing #SurfFishing #RockFishing #Garrick #Shad #Kob #Snoek #Geelbek #DagaSalmon #Amberjack #Couta #FishingReport #FishingUpdates #FishingLife #AnglerLife #FishingAddict #CoastalFishing #RockAndSurf #OffshoreFishing #DeepSeaFishing #TightLines #FishingSeason #WinterFishing #SardineRun #NorthCoast #DurbanFishing #KZNFishing #SaltwaterFishing #FishingConditions #OceanLife #Baitfish #PredatorFishing #CatchOfTheDay #FishingCommunity #FishingTips #vineshsoogreem Vinesh's website [https://anglernews.co.za/]
