True Happiness

Joy to the World...

The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes the familiar chorus of Christians reminding the world that Jesus was not born on December 25. While the factual accuracy of that statement is important, what concerns me is how some Christians handle this time of year. Instead of seizing the opportunity to point people to Jesus, they seem to wield the occasion like a club, ensuring anyone not already in the pews feels guilty, unwelcome, or outright terrible about the whole idea of Jesus’ birth. If we’re supposed to be the light of the world, why are we so often the first to blow out the candle when others might actually notice it? Looking Back

Genesis 19:26 states, “But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.” This verse contains a powerful warning. Jesus Himself emphasized its importance with the words, “Remember Lot’s wife” (Luke 17:32). Her tragic end stands as a testimony to the spiritual peril of disobedience, divided loyalty, and failing to leave sin behind. In this passage, we find lessons both for those awakening to the need for salvation and for those in danger of falling away. Paul’s Divine Authority

In Galatians chapter one, Paul makes a bold and necessary defense of his apostleship. The Galatians were being misled by false teachers, and Paul needed to re-establish his authority, not for his own sake, but for the preservation of the true gospel. His claim to authority rested on a simple truth: his message came directly from Jesus Christ. It was not taught to him by any man. This divine origin was essential to Paul’s defense and forms the basis for why we, even today, can trust his message.
