School might seem universal… but not when you cross the Atlantic. In this episode of Grits and a Brit, the GRITS and the Brit head back to school to unpack the surprising differences between education in the USA and the UK. From school lunches and uniforms to grading systems, sports culture, and even what you call your teachers—nothing is quite as similar as you’d think. Why are American schools like movies? Why do British schools love uniforms? And who really has it harder? Expect nostalgia, confusion, a few strong opinions, and plenty of “wait… you did WHAT at school?!” moments as we compare classrooms, cultures, and childhoods.

EP17: Why is the Brit afraid of deer?

What could possibly be different about everyday life in the UK and the USA? Turns out… quite a lot. In Episode 17 of Grits and a Brit, the GRITS and the Brit dive into the surprisingly dramatic world of normal things — driving on completely opposite sides of the road, the American love affair with the drive-thru, and why both countries insist their weather is the most unpredictable on earth.
