Each Season Calls for a Different Strategy

Different battles call for new strategies at times. In the book of Joshua when the children of Israel were going into battle with various nations, for each, God gave them a different strategy. For Jericho, God told them to circle around the walls of Jericho for the first six days, and on the 7th day, when the trumpets sounded, Joshua commanded the army to shout, “and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city” (Joshua 6:20 [https://www.biblestudytools.com/joshua/6-20.html]). As for the land of Ai God instructed Joshua and a group of his man to distract the people of Ai by going and running away from the city and once they moved from the city, the Army of Israel came and destroyed the city. Every single time Joshua knew which strategy would give the children of Israel victory because he heard from God. The Importance of Being Trauma-Informed

This episode was inspired by my therapist after venting to her in a session. September is also Suicide Prevention Month! I think it is imperative for us Christians to become trauma-informed because when you understand someone’s trauma, it is easier to love and support them. To better understand this, let's look at the story of Jabez: “And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! Harden Not Your Heart

“Psalm 95:8-9 Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness, when your fathers put me to the test and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.” We often allow our circumstances to harden our hearts and keep us away from His presence. The goal of the enemy is to steal your worship and kill your relationship with the Father. Amid the pain, remember God is glorious in holiness, and He is worthy to be praised because He is God outside of what He has or hasn’t done for you. This season of my life is not an easy one. Still, I came to a point where I was like, God, if you took all my troubles away right now and gave me every single desire of my heart, it wouldn’t matter because all of it would eventually pass away, but the most precious thing is learning to love you no matter what. Learning to fear you and understanding that eternity is the focus, so if nothing else will keep me in the Secret place, please let fear for you keep me there. Understanding Authority

To be Christian is to be a child who walks in their Christ-given authority without fear and compromise. Luke 9:1 ESV "And he called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases." Mark 16:17 ESV "And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues." you’re struggling, i get it.

If you are in a season where God is highlighting the importance of addressing your pain, trauma, anxiety and fears. Please take time to D E A L with it because if you don’t, you will end up staying in the wilderness for 40 years when God intended for 40 days. I also want to validate you and let you know that it’s okay to be Christian and need healing and the support of a therapist to deal with it. You can be Christian and be in therapy and if you need a therapist, please look for one. Pray and do your research and find one near you or online through Better Help. The Bible tells us that there is safety in the multitude of counselors. “Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
