Lisää Selah Moments with Sam and Jess

Selah Moments with Sam and Jess is a podcast inviting Black Christian Millennial and Gen Z women to slow down right in the middle of whatever life is doing, especially on the days when life is life-ing. We centre the stories and experiences of Black women, but any sis who is hungry for deeper rest and discipleship is welcome at this table.Selah (סֶלָה) is that biblical pause, the little “hold on sis… let’s breathe and hear God” moment, and that’s exactly what we’re creating together.Think heartfelt conversations with quiet-time vibes: laughter, honesty, Scripture, and those “Okay God… I hear You” moments.Inspired by the reflective rhythm of the Psalms and flowing out of our own friendship and sisterhood, Selah Moments is a gentle nudge to pause before you keep pouring, leading, loving, and showing up for everyone else. It’s a soft place to land, realign, and be reminded that you are God’s daughter first. Our mandate is to equip, empower, and impart. Each episode is created to:• give you practical, life-giving biblical wisdom• help you slow down and check in with your soul• bring peace, clarity, and truth through real, Spirit-led conversation• deepen your spiritual formation and discipleship in the middle of real lifeTwo voices. One vision. Real conversations that meet you in the middle and remind you that God is there too.Welcome to your Selah moment, sis. We’re so glad you’re here.

Building a Lasting Legacy: Obedience, Character & Generational Impact

In this episode of Selah Moments we’re exploring what it really means to build a lasting legacy. Legacy is often connected to money, wealth, or what we leave behind materially, but in this conversation, Jess and Sam unpack legacy through the lens of faith, obedience, character, stewardship, discipleship, and everyday impact. They discuss how the way we live, love, respond, obey, and show up can shape not only our lives, but the generations coming after us. This episode is for the woman who wants to live intentionally, steward her influence well, and understand how her obedience to God can create a ripple effect far beyond what she may ever see. In this episode, we talk about: * The true meaning of legacy beyond material wealth * How obedience is connected to generational impact * Why character and everyday behaviour matter * The influence we carry in our homes, communities, churches, and relationships * What it means to live out your eulogy, not just your resume How faith, stewardship, and discipleship shape the legacy we leave Resources mentioned: Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer Join us for BLOOM 2026: https://www.bloomsisconnect.ca/bloom2026 [https://www.bloomsisconnect.ca/bloom2026] Watch on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@BLOOMSisConnect [https://www.youtube.com/@BLOOMSisConnect]

Stop Burying Your Gift: Stewardship, Fear & The Parable of the Talents

In this episode of Selah Moments with Jessica and Sam, we explore the Parable of the Talents and what it teaches us about stewardship, multiplication, faith, and trusting God with the gifts He placed in our hands. Jessica and Sam talk about why many women bury their talents because of fear, comparison, shame, insecurity, or waiting for the perfect moment. This conversation is a reminder that God is not asking you to be someone else. He is calling you to faithfully steward what He has already given you. Together, they unpack the importance of working what God placed in your hands, trusting Him for multiplication, releasing what no longer serves the season you are stepping into, and launching out in faith. If you’ve been doubting your gift, shrinking back, or waiting for permission to move forward, this episode will encourage you to stop burying your talent and start stewarding it with faith. Listen in as we talk about: * The Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25 * Why women bury their gifts * Stewardship and multiplication * Fear, comparison, and insecurity * Trusting God’s timing * Launching out into new territory * Releasing the old for the new Resources Mentioned: Bloom 2026 Toronto Event: https://www.bloomsisconnect.ca/bloom2026 [https://www.bloomsisconnect.ca/bloom2026] Release, Release, Remain Devotional by Yvette Henry Matthew 25: The Parable of the Talents Share this episode with a friend who needs the reminder that her gift still matters

Holy Audacity, Identity, and Being Chosen by God

What does holy audacity look like in real life? In this episode of Selah Moments with Sam and Jess, we explore what it means to embrace boldness in faith and stop shrinking back from what God is calling you to do. We talk about overcoming self doubt, silencing negative inner narratives, and building the kind of faith that moves even when fear is present. Breaking Negative Self-Talk: Renewing Your Mind + Embracing Your Identity in Christ

Negative self-talk can feel like a nonstop narrator in your mind, shaming you, shrinking you, and making it hard to receive what God says about you. In this episode, we explore how that inner voice is often rooted in childhood experiences and the messages we absorbed early on. We share personal stories, biblical insight, and practical tools to help you uproot lies and replace them with truth. We discuss the Holy Spirit’s role in renewing the mind, how to “confront lies with facts,” and why therapy and safe spaces can be a powerful part of healing and discipleship. If you’re ready to quiet the noise, recognize God’s voice, and walk in your identity as chosen, this conversation will meet you right where you are. Keywords: negative self-talk, identity in Christ, Christian mental health, renewing the mind, healing childhood wounds, Holy Spirit guidance, therapy for Christians, resilience, spiritual growth, self-awareness, inner critic, shame.
