E3: It’s Not Too Hard to Fix Your Hormones, You Just Need the Right First Steps

By now, you know your hormone symptoms aren’t just in your head — they’re real, they’re physical, and they’re totally fixable. In this episode, we’re talking about exactly how to start fixing them without getting overwhelmed. I’m sharing the two core principles I use with all my clients: 1. Make hormones well 2. Detox hormones well That’s it. That’s the roadmap. And the first step on that path? A real breakfast. Yep, we’re starting with food — and not coffee-as-breakfast food. I’m talking about a simple, blood sugar–balancing, hormone-loving breakfast within 30 to 60 minutes of waking up. Before the coffee. (I know.) You’ll learn why your body needs safety signals to produce and detox hormones properly, why skipping breakfast puts your body in survival mode, and how this one step alone can boost your energy, calm your anxiety, and help you feel like yourself again. It’s simple, it’s doable, and it works. If you’re ready to stop running on fumes and actually give your body what it needs to feel good, this episode is your starting point. Topics Discussed in the Episode: * The two core steps to balancing hormones * Why your nervous system needs safety to make hormones * How skipping breakfast messes with your cycle * A hormone-friendly way to start your day * Why nourishment is the opposite of burnout * What my clients see when they start with this one change * The First Step to Hormone Balance (It’s Not What You Think) Get the breakfast guide here [https://leishadrews.myflodesk.com/breakfast] Want my feedback on your meals every day? E1: What women don’t know about our hormones DOES hurt us

You’ve probably been told that PMS, cramps, hormonal acne, and mood swings are just “part of being a woman,” right? That's not what we believe here.  In this episode, we’re getting into what should have been taught in middle school—but wasn’t. I’m breaking down how your menstrual cycle actually works, what your hormones are trying to tell you, and why feeling like a hot mess every month isn’t something you just have to “deal with.” If you’ve ever left a doctor’s office being told “everything looks fine” but felt very not fine, this one’s for you. We're talking real hormone education, informed consent, and what your body’s been trying to say through all those wild symptoms. This is the foundation for everything else coming your way in the hormone series—so don’t skip it!2w Topics Discussed in the Episode: * Why “common” doesn’t mean “normal” when it comes to period symptoms * What your hormones are actually doing each week of your cycle * How to know if your body feels safe enough to ovulate * Why balanced hormones = calmer moods + better energy Disclaimer: Nothing in this podcast is a substitution for medical advice hormone health, menstrual cycle education, hormone imbalance, painful periods, PMS symptoms, mood swings and hormones, estrogen dominance, progesterone benefits, ovulation explained, natural hormone balance, women's health podcast, informed consent in healthcare, period pain solutions, birth control alternatives, cycle syncing, understanding your period, what is ovulation, heavy bleeding during period, hormonal acne, breast tenderness PMS, cycle phase breakdown, how hormones affect mood, hormone shifts in cycle, estrogen and progesterone, progesterone and mood, hormone-friendly lifestyle, period is not normal, fertility awareness, menstrual phases, low energy during period, hormone detox, stress and ovulation, cycle education, understanding hormones, women's hormone podcast, hormone superpower, natural period health, hormone imbalance signs, common hormone symptoms, cycle syncing basics, period myths, women’s wellness education, hormone series, PMS isn’t normal, birth control side effects, safe hormonal options, intro to hormone health, healthy menstrual cycle, root cause of period symptoms, female hormone function, how to support your hormones

E2: PMS is not all in your head

PMS has been brushed off, joked about, and misunderstood for way too long. If you feel like a completely different person in the days or weeks before your period, there is a reason for that — and it is not because you are dramatic, weak, or bad at handling stress. In this episode, we get clear on what PMS actually is, how it shows up, and how it differs from PMDD. We talk about the emotional side like irritability, anxiety, sadness, and rage, but also the physical symptoms like breast tenderness, cramping, acne, and feeling completely depleted before your period even starts. We also break down why this phase of your cycle is so sensitive from a hormone perspective. Progesterone should be the calming, stabilizing hormone during the luteal phase, but when estrogen is dominant or progesterone is too low, everything can feel amplified. Your mood, your stress response, your energy, and even the decisions you feel tempted to make can all be affected. The most important part? PMS is not just a mindset issue. There are real, physical causes behind it — hormone imbalances, blood sugar instability, mineral depletion, and a body that does not feel safe enough to keep up with the demands of this phase of the cycle. And when we understand that, we actually get the power to change it. If PMS is costing you peace, relationships, or your sense of self every single month, this episode will help you understand why — and set the stage for what we can do about it next. Topics Discussed in the Episode: * What PMS really is and what is considered normal vs abnormal * The difference between PMS and PMDD * Why mood symptoms are often strongest before your period * Estrogen dominance and low progesterone explained simply * How blood sugar and mineral depletion worsen PMS * Why PMS is a physical issue, not a personality flaw Want more episodes like this?
