Before I was born, my parents met and discovered that a little T3 was on the way. My father’s plan was simple. As soon as I could carry my own weight, my mother, my older brother, and I would leave the modern world behind and head into the Bob Marshall Wilderness to homestead, stepping away from the rat race and the web of falsehoods that steals our time and energy in service of hollow pursuits. Everything changed on a cold night in January, under the full moon. My grandfather called it the Moon of Purification. Before parting ways, he told my father that one day a son would be born, and that on the first Moon of Purification, my father was to bring his child with him at just four months old, honoring a sacred promise. That night, my father carried me into a place deeply loved by my grandfather, lit his pipe, and gave thanks. That night matters because it marks the moment my father stopped living a dream and began living a vision. Join me for this special episode as I share stories from my youth, intimate writings exchanged between my mother and father before my birth, and reflections on how we can turn the page on what has become the opposite of everything my father devoted his life to. I love the Fall. Wisconsin I have arrived!

Each time I move forward, it gets a little easier. I’m learning to let go of what no longer serves me and hold even tighter to what truly matters. The past may carry its share of pain, but there’s nothing to do now except keep growing and becoming the best version of myself. That journey has brought me here, to Wisconsin. I’m about 45 minutes east of the twin cities,where I will be spending time helping on the land and grounding myself in this next chapter. Nomad Engage!

Here we go! In just a few days, I’ll be heading south to visit Tom Elpel, author of Botany in a Day, and explore his organization. I’m hoping to sit down with him for an interview on the podcast as well. From there, the journey continues East to Wisconsin, where I’ll be checking out a new opportunity and letting intuition guide the path ahead, following the pull toward people I want to interview for both the podcast and the upcoming documentary. Along the way, I’ll continue offering my online “Pay-What-You-Will” classes, keeping the teachings accessible to all. This trip carries special meaning: since my father took his final walk, I haven’t had a place I can truly call home. Now, the road itself has become both teacher and shelter. The Machine Part Deux

Today is the day—Rolling Turtle and I are officially FULL NOMAD! After years of dreaming, planning, and slowly pulling the pieces together, it’s finally happening. And of course, the adventure kicked off with a classic plot twist. On my way to visit an old friend in Spokane, Rolling Turtle decided he didn’t like his clutch anymore. At first, I thought, “Uh oh, this could be bad…” but as luck (or fate) would have it, my friend just happens to be a Subaru wizard. The repair shop would’ve hit me with a $2400 bill, but instead—with two friends, some elbow grease, and under $900—Rolling Turtle is now running better than ever. My gas mileage is up, my steering is smoother, and I couldn’t feel more grateful for the way things aligned. That’s when it really hit me: even though I’ve been bouncing around for a while, today marks the moment I’ve stepped fully into this nomadic lifestyle. Not just because it’s time—but because I’m on a mission now. I’m not just traveling; I’m searching for a place I can truly call home, a spot on the map filled with people who are genuine, welcoming, and real.
