Some have found joy through Christian dating platforms. Others encountered scammers, isolation, or discouragement. Many expressed frustration at the lack of single believers in their churches. Some have given up, saying, “It’s in God’s timing.” Others admitted they tried to force relationships and ended up hurt.
In this episode, we address the deeper issues beneath the surface.
We talk about the growing pressure on Christian men to “have it all made” before even pursuing marriage — house, car, high salary — and how unrealistic expectations are quietly keeping many believers single. Yes, a man must work and provide, but a kingdom is built together. Marriage was never designed as a reward for the fully established — it is a covenant where two believers build under Christ.
We also speak candidly to women about the cultural encouragement to delay marriage for career, travel, and independence — and the biological and spiritual realities that many only face later in their thirties. Career ambition is welcome, but do not forsake your God-given gift of covenant and family without sober reflection.
We confront compromise — long relationships without marriage, sexual intimacy outside covenant, having children without commitment — and why these cultural norms are anti-God and anti-family. Yet we also emphasise God’s mercy. No matter your past, repentance restores. He makes a way where there seems to be no way.
We explore the tricky topic of being unequally yoked, the responsibility of spiritual leadership, and whether Christian men are truly hearing from God. Marriage is not merely companionship — it is sanctification. It will reveal everything in you. Without Christ at the centre, it becomes heavy. With Him, it becomes transformative.
We also challenge the church. Social mixers are helpful — but they account for only a small percentage of real preparation. What is urgently needed is deep discipleship, spiritual maturity, emotional intelligence, and Christ-centred formation before marriage ever begins.
This episode is not about panic. It is about preparedness.
Marriage is not about finding someone. It is about becoming someone under God.
