Reviewing The Jay Dyer vs Jonathan Shelley Debate on Tradition vs Sola Scriptura

Around 10 days ago, Eastern Orthodox apologist, Jay Dyer, and NIFB Pastor Jonathan Shelley had, what was called, a debate on Tradition vs Sola Scriptura on the Modern-Day Debate channel. I watched it so you don’t have to.I want to make it clear that I was wanting Shelley to do well. While he says that Jonathan Burris is a piece of scum, fake pastor that hates Jesus and hates the word of God and best thing Jonathan Burris can do is to die and go to hell, I sincerely wanted him to defend Sola Scriptura. Needless to say, I was left wanting.Shelley was ill-prepared and out of his league by an order of magnitude against Jay Dyer. These NIFB pastors like Shelley are comfortable inside the comfort zones of their church's echo chamber where they control the bully pulpit with dictatorial authority, but in the scholarly arena, Shelley proved himself unequipped from a scholarly perspective, and absent the demeanor to go toe-to-toe with someone as arrogant as himself, but much more steeped in Church history and apologetics. I am not a Dyer fan. That the Bible is full of times that God did not get what he desired. So, is God sovereign or not? Anti-Calvinists like Leighton Flowers and his followers love to assert that Jeremiah 19:5 absolutely destroys Sproul's statement that there are no maverick molecules. Are there? Is God truly sovereign or not? Is Calvinism conquered with this one verse? Let's take a look.
