In this episode of See Play Perform, host Noah Moody sits down with the wonderful Dio Hadley, a former TVCT student who is now a freshman at Idaho State University and on their way to becoming the theater world's next great dramaturg. (And yes, we will absolutely explain what that is.) From getting knocked out by Tinker Bell in a Peter Pan summer camp to landing a lead role in a college musical as a first-year student, Dio's journey through TVCT is proof that theater genuinely changes lives. Along the way, Noah and Dio swap audition horror stories, discover the Shakespeare connections hiding inside every Lion King movie, and learn that painting mountains is apparently a great cure for boredom. Oh, and there's a game. A dramatic reading game. Featuring a Muppet Treasure Island DVD, a box of throat comfort tea, and a leprechaun who is really not feeling well. Episode 7 - Meet the Behr Family: Hockey, Theater & Mac & Cheese Gangsters | See Play Perform

Episode 7 is an absolute blast and a little emotional too (in the best way). Noah sits down with William and Ryan Behr, parents of one of TVCT's absolute favorite students, Tallulah (aka Lulu). And fair warning: this family is a LOT in the best way possible From the moment Tallulah tried to sell her dad his own childhood memories to the time she spotted a poured concrete patio and immediately declared it her new stage, it's clear this kid was born for the spotlight. Noah and the Behrs talk about what it's like to raise a tiny force of nature, what theater has done for her confidence and leadership, and how her classes in murder mystery and stage combat may or may not have inspired some interesting sibling dynamics at home. The conversation also gets genuinely touching when William and Ryan share about their family's involvement with Game Changers Idaho (a sports nonprofit for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities) and the Jayden DeLuca Foundation (supporting families of children with congenital heart defects). Noah opens up too, sharing his own experience as a stepparent to a special needs child. Episode 6 - Shakespeare, Spaghetti & Superpowers! ft. Nora & Tallulah | See Play Perform

Donate to Treasure Valley Children's Theater by visiting idahogives.org Welcome back to the See Play Perform Podcast from Treasure Valley Children's Theater! 🎭⭐ This week, host Noah Moody is joined by two of his Wednesday acting students - the naturally imaginative Nora and the tremendously theatrical Tallulah - for an episode stuffed to the brim with silly games, big laughs, and some surprisingly heartfelt moments along the way. First up, we dive straight into an improv game called "Well, Well, Well, If It Isn't..." where our trio takes turns giving each other outrageous characters to play on the spot. We're talking Dracula complaining about his breakfast cereal, a very overwhelmed Batman on his first podcast, and a talking parrot named Squawking. It goes gloriously off the rails and that's exactly how we like it. After that, it's time for life updates! We find out that Nora's brother is losing two teeth (and no, she did NOT ask to keep them), that a coloring book accidentally inspired the greatest band name of all time - Fuzzy Hygiene - and that Tallulah has very big plans to skip spring break and go straight to summer. (Her mom was in the room. Noah reminded everyone of this.) Then things get real  in the best way. Noah asks both girls about their journeys with TVCT: how they got started, what kept them coming back, and how theater became one of those rare places where being your whole, goofy, wonderful self is actually encouraged. Nora shares that TVCT was one of the first places she ever felt like she could truly be herself, and Tallulah reveals that she switched from figure skating to hockey partly because - and we quote - in hockey, you get to hit people. She is not wrong. We also get the full origin story of Bobby the Chicken Nugget (and his girlfriend, Ketchup), learn how an Elphaba voice in Nora's head helps her stand up to bullies, and hear Noah open up about his own middle school days carrying around a book of Greek mythology. 📚 Then the tables turn! Tallulah and Nora put Noah in the hot seat with their own questions: What's his dream role? (Captain Hook, obviously.) What's his favorite role he's ever played? (Spoiler: it involves a dress, a wig, and the title "Princess Noah.") Would he rather win an award for acting or directing? And if he could have any superpower, what would it be? His answer involves jumping off buildings for comedic effect and absolutely no super strength. Very on-brand. And then, the grand finale - DRAMATIC FOOD PACKAGE READINGS. 🍝👻🎉 Tallulah reads a bag of pistachios like she's telling a campfire horror story. Nora reads an apple cider packet as a game show host. Noah reads a box of spaghetti as if spaghetti has personally wronged him and he is deeply, dramatically afraid of it. It is everything. Episode 5 - The TVCT Mom Squad: Why the Arts Matter | See Play Perform

Your host Noah Moody is back with another great episode, and this time he's outnumbered three-to-one. Bold move, Noah. Bold move. In this episode, Noah is joined by three powerhouse ladies who all have deep roots in TVCT and the arts nonprofit world: 🌟 Carly Oppie - TVCT mom and performer, and the Development Director at Opera Idaho. She found us through a musical, rapped in it, accidentally landed a dream job, AND volunteered to be the cowboy/cowgirl segment of our dramatic reading game. You'll see. 🌟 Heather Carlson - TVCT board member, Boise State two-timer (Go Broncos! 🐎), and mom to a TVCT kid, who is basically a theater prodigy who beat her teacher in a sword fight. More on that in a moment. 🌟 Alison Terenzio-Moody - TVCT Executive Director, Noah's lovely wife, everyone's boss, and the one who pays us. She also delivers what is objectively the greatest Professor McGonagall car dealership ad performance in recorded human history. Episode 4 - We're All In This Together | High School Musical Jr. Hits the TVCT Stage | Treasure Valley Children's Theater

Noah Moody is back at the helm of the See, Play, Perform Podcast, brought to you by Treasure Valley Children's Theater. This week he's joined by two cast members of the upcoming production of High School Musical Junior: the delightful Ellie and Abby. And yes, things get wonderfully weird right from the jump. Before any serious conversation can happen, our guests are thrown headfirst into an improv icebreaker game that produces a loudly-shushing librarian, an old-timey sheriff who's very tired of teenagers, and a Colonel Sanders with absolutely zero chicken left to sell. You know, normal podcast stuff. Once the chaos settles (slightly), Noah digs into the good stuff. We find out Ellie is a 10-year TVCT veteran who first stepped on stage as Dorothy in Wizard of Oz at the ripe age of five, and Abby - currently in her seventh year with the company - got hooked after a summer camp production of Schoolhouse Rock post-Covid. Both are buzzing with energy as opening night for High School Musical Junior approaches, and they've got their sights set on auditioning for Aladdin at Boise Little Theater this summer too. The conversation winds through memorable TVCT moments (shoutout to a chaotic Puffs costume change involving inside-out pants and a very frazzled stage manager named Liam), life outside the theater (Ellie longboards to Jackson's for sloshes; Abby is currently ripping through books so fast she doesn't even remember their titles), and the very real phenomenon of typecasting. Ellie keeps getting cast as young-but-maternal characters, while Abby has fully embraced being "the dumb one" and honestly seems fine about it. Future dreams? Broadway, obviously. NYU, maybe. Forensic scientist or cosmetologist as backup options. Abby's dad Steve apparently wants to write an accounting musical, which is either brilliant or deeply concerning. The episode wraps up with a dramatic readings game that forces everyone to perform voice-acting scripts as absurd characters. A documentary narrated by Gandalf, a children's reading app advertised by a furious radio DJ, and a troll who is extremely excited to tell you about Big Ben. All three are immediately offered imaginary jobs. It's funny, heartfelt, and proof that theater kids are simply built different.
