Myanmar 🇲🇲

The Burmese military has re-taken over the recent democratically installed country of Myanmar in a coup on February 1st. Since then, hundreds of thousands of protestors have taken to the streets to demand a return to civilian rule, and an end to military occupation. Myanmar (Burma) has a long history of military occupation and subsequent crackdowns. In this episode, I briefly explain the long history of events that led to this 2021 coup.

Thailand 🇹🇭

In this episode, we go to Thailand where over 10,000 mostly university students are protesting the military government's control of Parliament and the constitution, as well as demanding reform on a very delicate subject in Thailand: the Royal Monarchy.

Belarus 🇧🇾

In this episode, we go to the former Soviet satellite country of Belarus. Belarusians have hit the streets amidst the COVID-19 pandemic to express their displeasure with President, er rather dictator, Alexander Lukashenko, after he barred political candidates from running against him in the upcoming presidential election. *Note: Lukashenko has been president for 26 years now... Philippines 🇵🇭

In this episode, Seabass covers the latest protest in the Philippines. Despite quarantine restrictions on mass gatherings due to COVID-19, Filipinos are standing up against the passage of an Anti-Terror Bill they claim, that due to its wording, the government can easily violate the liberties of ordinary citizens by labeling them as terrorists. India 🇮🇳

Muslims in India are hitting the streets to protest a controversial citizenship bill, the Citizenship Amendment Act. Many are worried that the increasingly Hindu nationalist government of Narendra Modi will strip them of citizenship, and thus, a voice in their own country. While others are fighting to protect their identity, freedom, and equality from increasing immigration.
