Thomas Massie loses his party’s nomination for standing up for a single principle: the wealthy should not have a special exemption to r*pe children. On every other issue, he is well-aligned with Republicans but in a red state, that is insufficient. All this tells us is how important this cover-up is to the GOP. In Ohio, the AG seems to have taken a bribe to dismiss charges that could have seen consequences for Les Wexner, Richard Strauss and other friends of Epstein and abusers. In exchange, he has landed a job with a literal hate group with its sights squarely trained on LGBTQIA rights, including marriage. Its not a bug, its a feature. Trump brings out the worst kinds of people and this term it is on full display. The South Gonna do it Again was a folksy joke until the Supreme Court paved the way for new Jim Crow. Republicans everywhere are in a rush to be as racist as possible and it is stirring up a lot of race-based hate that has simmered under the surface of this county since the beginning. Failure to deal with the reality of the history of the USA finds us in a place where two young, black children are kidnapped and brutally murdered: Markavious Rumph and Kayla Huff. Then the racially motivated shooters in San Diego are stopped by a hero Amin Abdullah. A reminder that when hate arises, we must rise up as well.
