Descripción

We are building the foundations of what will become America and of course to do that we have to talk about one of the main ingredients......slavery. One part democracy, one part freedom, and one part slavery and you got yourself an American pie. In today's class we begin to classify the timeline of slavery in the colonies and how its acceptance would lay the foundation for what slavery and ultimately America will become. As stated in previous episodes, this is where BLM begins and why it matters so much! Check this out from Sutori.com https://www.sutori.com/en/story/punishment-torture-on-slaves--TZde1BGDNfsry5f7KMavwkdq [https://www.sutori.com/en/story/punishment-torture-on-slaves--TZde1BGDNfsry5f7KMavwkdq] You can see a detailed history of torture for slaves but also a great photo series covering neck irons and prongs. This is a student project and very well done! Elevate that A+ student quality! Offer suggestions for audio and notes as I build this thing, or simply say HI. Love meeting new folks! ashpodcastnetwork@gmail.com [ashpodcastnetwork@gmail.com] Lastly, be on the look out for a New Podcast from the Ash Podcast Network "A Second Shot at History" COMING IN TWO WEEKS!

Ep 4 -Geography & Economy of the Colonies

Hey! Class is back after a brief hiatus of your teacher being sick and having to go to a top secret underground facility for treatment, but thankfully I'm back and feel amazing, but do you all hear that strange audio clicking noise.......weird. Well anyways, ever wonder why the Brits came to the East coast? Ever wonder why they did not go further west to all that sweet sweet land out there, aside from the fact they knew next to nothing about it or that millions people already lived there..... Ever wonder what the Colonist actually made and produced for money and what their economy looked like? Well do I have an exciting class for you! No, but for real, today's class is a walk through the geography of the 13 colonies and why the British choose them and not to advance more inland, aside from obvious transportation and shipping routes, and we are going to cover what those colonies were producing as we set up the foundations of what will eventually become the United States.
