https://5count4.substack.com/ [https://5count4.substack.com/] For decades, two men's D1 college golf perpetual trophies were passed down from one champion to the next. The winning teams gained ownership of the Maxwell Cup (1921) while the individual winner got the Chick Evans Bowl (1940), getting to literally etch their names in history. Sometime in the 1980s these trophies were phased out in favor of the NCAA standardized trophies and seemingly vanished. Welcome to my personal obsession, an ongoing hunt for college golf treasure! Karsten (Creek)

https://5count4.substack.com/ [https://5count4.substack.com/] Oklahoma State has long been the standard when it comes to being a college golf powerhouse and their home, Karsten (Creek), is not only a fitting place to perfect their craft but also houses perhaps the best collection of the sport's history. NOTE: Despite multiple attempts, I could not get them to pronounce Coach “LAY-brun” Harris’s name correctly.
