Descripción

We continue our conversations with Dr. Alvean Lyons around racism in America and we start to touch upon my own racist thoughts and ideas and how - through the help of my good friend - those thoughts have begun to evolve through a deeper understanding and her immense patience with me.   As always - thoughts, comments and questions can be delivered to DeeperUnderstandingQuestions@gmail.com - in the next episode we plan to spend our time responding to emails and questions - so please keep them coming.

A Deeper Understanding: Episode 2

In a continuation of our introductory episode, we talk a bit more about our relationship and some of the goals we have for making our conversations public.  We discuss religion and our personal faiths.  How we view cultural touchstones here in America.  And we begin to discuss some of the emails we have started to received at DeeperUnderstandingQuestions@gmail.com.  We believe these first two episodes will serve as a foundation to understanding our friendship so that we can begin to address social commentary and other issues as we proceed.   This week has also seen a return to professional sports in the United States - and with it the great debate of "to kneel - or not to kneel".   I share my own personal views on what the national anthem means to me - why I stand - and I why I respect the rights of those who choose to kneel. Thank you for taking this journey with us.
