Descripción

Mike Budde [mike.budde.284081] did not bring us pizza from his world famous establishment Budde's Pizza & American Craft Beer Bar [https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063527861502] but he brought his guitar. Mike has been making & performing music for 30 plus years in the region, mostly in Galesburg. He's thrived as a solo artists for decades & as the host of hugely popular open mics. His first venture into live performing was actually an open mic and it was that community of artists & musicians that greatly influenced Mike. And luckily for Mike when he & his wife purchased a restaurant nearly 19 years ago, it had a stage & a jukebox loaded with a few Tom Waits albums which would shift Mike into different gears. We were blessed to hear him play live & we hope you enjoy every moment of episode 20 with our friend, Mike Budde. episode Jake Dillon-Jake Of All Tradez artwork

Jake Dillon-Jake Of All Tradez

Jake Dillon [https://www.facebook.com/jakeofalltradez22] was so good at the drums, it didn't matter that he was only 17 playing Thursday Night Jazz in the bars in the early 90's with the Knox College combo, it was right where he was suppose to be. If you've been to a Rootabaga Jazz festival [https://www.facebook.com/knoxcollegemusic] in the last few decades, Jake was probably there with the alumni band. Then again in the early to mid 2000's you might have seen him fronting a metal project and went wait, what can't this guy do? Jake shares his many early influences with us too. Dad's finger tapping on everything was one, the jazz greats he discovered was another and Knoxville Jazz/Orchestra director Bob Olmsted, gave Jake invaluable advice & direction, and of course the Knox legend who gave Jake some of his first opportunities, Scott Garlock. Jake's current musical output is quite impressive and he shared plenty of it with us on this episode, including an ear-worm theme song for our podcast that Jake wrote hours before showing up. It's fantastic and now our official theme song. But most impressive are the self produced tracks Jake brought with him. Find all the songs at these times.. 32:11 Two Pump Chump [https://open.spotify.com/track/1Y7GKIUZxM3lGdCBNm3Uez] 40:10 Men In Red Bleed [https://music.apple.com/us/album/men-in-red-bleed/1758527767?i=1758527772] 1:08:40 IDFWPWFWPIDFW [https://open.spotify.com/track/6C0jj7XoSaFgPvUEPmqPdf] 1:28:21 Neighborhood Legend [https://open.spotify.com/track/5zL3yCk4FTmKDszskRPVYf] Jake is currently on the lookout for musicians for current & upcoming projects, so drop him a message if you're serious. We truly hope you enjoy going A Little Off Track with the super-duper talented, Jake Dillon. episode Josh Dixon - A Mechanical Pencil artwork

Josh Dixon - A Mechanical Pencil

Artist Josh Dixon joins us for episode 18. Josh doesn't contribute his talent to a 4 year degree, but to the mentors he paid close attention to over the years. And people who just gave him a chance. He probably did the artwork for your band's CD, he might have been the drummer for your hardcore band and he's the happiest human in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre t-shirt that I've ever seen. He has work peppered all over the community and he creates and thrives in the Drag Racing industry but knows absolutely ZILTCH about cars. Here is our multifaceted friend Josh Dixon & the music of his band, SoColossal [https://www.facebook.com/socolossal]. https://www.facebook.com/quartermax1 [https://www.facebook.com/quartermax1] https://www.facebook.com/socolossal [https://www.facebook.com/socolossal]

episode Travis Stoneking-Laryngitis artwork

Travis Stoneking-Laryngitis

Travis Stoneking originates from Knoxville, Illinois, the home of heavy rock. Actually it's the home of the Blue Bullets, but growing up, inside Travis's house, Mom was rocking AC/DC & he still has Grandma's copy of Second Helping from Skynyrd. When the females in your life rock, you're going places. Not only has Travis & his bands of the last 30 years left their mark on the region, it's currently happening again with Indian Burn [https://www.facebook.com/indianburnmusic]. You'll get a taste of their upcoming album as we feature 3 tracks during the podcast. A family man, a Slayer fan, & he's celebrating 20 years at a job he loves, and never forgetting how to rock, cause I promise you Indian Burn will shake your soul. We intended releasing this episode today 2/21 in conjunction with a live show planned for tonight celebrating the band and Travis' birthday. Well, enjoy the pod cause old Laryngitis stole Travis voice & so it wasn't to be. Don't worry, a rescheduled date is on the way. Please enjoy some time with our friend, Travis Stoneking.

episode Pam Gaither ~ Those Are Real Scissors artwork

Pam Gaither ~ Those Are Real Scissors

Pam Gaither is not only Executive Director of the Galesburg Area Chamber Of Commerce [Galesburg Area Chamber Of Commerce], she's our friend. You might actually know Pam, even if you don't because of all the many hundreds of presentations she makes throughout our community, to celebrate business openings, anniversaries and their many successes. But we were lucky enough to get her to come high above Cherry Street to our little studios to learn a little more about her and how exactly the Chamber of Commerce helps so many businesses in the area. Pam makes mom, dad & Avon, Illinois proud. Thanks for spending some time with us going A Little Off Track [https://www.facebook.com/ALittleOffTrack/]. NOTES: If you love our voice actress/announcer, friend & former co-host of this podcast, Mandy [https://www.trulymadlymandy.com/]...check her stuff out here. https://www.trulymadlymandy.com/
